桜の花びらが風に舞う横須賀基地の春の日、卒業式が始まりました。

ゆいは小さく頷きましたが、心の中の不安は消えませんでした。

As the graduation ceremony proceeded, Yui's turn to stand at the podium came.

会場は傍らの桜の花の香りで満たされていました。

The venue was filled with the scent of the nearby cherry blossoms.

彼女は深呼吸をし、スピーチを始めました。

「皆さん、今私は大きな分かれ道に立っています。」彼女の声は震えていましたが、次第に力強くなっていきました。

"I've always cherished being a part of this community, but from now on, I want to cherish my dreams too."

家族や友達が見守る中、彼女は自分の心の中の不安を画面越しに、あるいは会場にいる仲間たちに向けて話しました。

With family and friends watching over her, she spoke to those present in the venue and those watching remotely about the anxiety in her heart.

「私には海を学び、新しい事を知り、成長するチャンスがあること、それがどれほど幸運かを知っています。」

"I know how fortunate I am to have the chance to learn about the sea, discover new things, and grow."

その後、彼女は静かに決意を口にしました。

Then she quietly voiced her resolve.

「私は夢を追いかけるために遠くの大学に行こうと思います。

"I have decided to go to a distant university to pursue my dreams.

皆さんの支えが私の力になりました。」
