On an autumn afternoon, the sunlight poured over Shanghai’s Yuyuan Gardens.

People gathered in this place, ready to welcome the Mid-Autumn Festival.

The air was filled with the fragrance of mooncakes, and colorful lanterns swayed gently in the breeze.

Mei and Zhihao were walking through the busy market.

Mei said to Zhihao, “I want to buy a special handcrafted lantern for Nainai.

So she can feel the festive atmosphere at home.” Zhihao frowned and replied, “Then let’s check out some modern stores.

These old things might not be suitable.” Mei shook her head.

Not far away, a small path led deeper into the market, and she was determined to follow it.

As she wandered deeper into the market, Mei discovered a hidden little stall.

The lanterns at the stall were extraordinarily exquisite, just what she had in mind.

However, when she asked about the price, she found it was beyond her expectations.

At that moment, Zhihao caught up and glanced at the lanterns, “Wow, these are indeed beautiful, but a bit expensive.

Maybe we should look at others.” Mei pondered; although the lanterns were pricey, their beauty and significance were irreplaceable.

She recalled the stories Nainai told and the times they gathered under the moonlit nights.

After some consideration, Mei decided to buy the lantern.

She used her saved money to pay, feeling immensely satisfied inside.

She was firm in her choice and filled with genuine happiness.

Zhihao saw Mei’s smile and felt a bit moved.

He nodded and said, “Seems like some traditions indeed cannot be lost.” He gained a new understanding of family traditions.

As sunset approached, Mei and Zhihao walked out of Yuyuan Gardens.

Mei held the eternal lantern tightly in her hand, and both felt the warmth of the festival and the meaning of home in their hearts.

The story concluded on a warm note in the autumn twilight.
