İstanbul'un hareketli bir semtinde, kahve kavurma dükkânının önünden geçenler, taze öğütülmüş kahve kokusuyla karşılanır.
In a bustling district of İstanbul, those passing by the coffee roasting shop are greeted by the scent of freshly ground coffee.
İçeride, Ege ve Selin, kuzenler olarak sıcak bir buluşma için bir araya gelmiştir.
Inside, Ege and Selin, cousins, have gathered for a warm meeting.
Hava serin ve hafifçe rüzgârlı bir sonbahar günüydü.
It was a cool and slightly windy autumn day.
Ahşap masaların ve sıcak ışıkların altında, şehir gürültüsünden uzak bir saklı cennet gibiydi burası.
Under wooden tables and warm lights, it felt like a hidden paradise away from the city's noise.
Ege, İstanbul'da çalışan genç bir mimardı.
Ege was a young architect working in İstanbul.
İşinde başarılı olsa da ailesinin kariyer beklentileri ve evlilik konusunda sürekli baskısı altındaydı.
Even though he was successful in his work, he was constantly under pressure from his family regarding career expectations and marriage.
Karşısında oturan Selin ise yurtdışında üniversitede okuyor, İstanbul ziyaretlerinde aileyle zaman geçiriyordu.
Sitting across from him, Selin, who was studying at a university abroad, spent time with family during visits to İstanbul.
İçten içe, Ege'nin sıkıntılarının farkında olan Selin, kuzenine destek olmak istiyordu ama konu açmakta kararsızdı.
Internally aware of Ege's troubles, Selin wanted to support her cousin but was hesitant to bring up the subject.
Konuşma sıcak kahvelerle başladı.
The conversation started with warm coffees.
Selin, "İstanbul gerçekten muhteşem," dedi. "Kahveler de bir harika."
Selin said, "İstanbul is truly magnificent," adding, "The coffees are amazing too."
Ege gülümsedi, "Evet, bu mekânı çok seviyorum. Sanki şehrin kaosundan kaçış gibi."
Ege smiled, "Yes, I really love this place. It's like an escape from the chaos of the city."
Fakat, bir an sessizlik oldu.
However, a moment of silence occurred.
Selin, aklından geçenleri daha fazla tutamayarak, "Üniversitede işler nasıl gidiyor?" diye sordu ve ekledi, "Aile hep soruyor, biliyorsun."
Unable to hold back her thoughts any longer, Selin asked, "How are things at the university?" and added, "You know, the family always asks."
Ege'nin yüzü düşünceli bir hüzünle bulandı.
Ege's face filled with thoughtful sadness.
"Evet, biliyorum. Ama bazen bu beklentiler beni yoruyor," dedi.
"Yes, I know. But sometimes these expectations tire me," he said.
Aslında, günlerdir hissettiği bu sıkışmışlık duygusunu paylaşmak istiyordu.
He actually wanted to share the feeling of being trapped that he had been experiencing for days.
Selin'in de bunu anladığını hissetti.
He felt that Selin understood this.
Kısa süre sadece kahvelerini yudumladılar.
For a short while, they just sipped their coffees.
Sonra Selin, "Aynı şey burada da geçerli. Herkesin bir fikri var," diye iç çekti.
Then Selin sighed, "It's the same here. Everyone has an opinion," she said.
"Ama nasıl hissettiğin daha önemli."
"But how you feel is more important."
Ege'nin gözleri yumuşadı.
Ege's eyes softened.
"Belki de haklısın," dedi.
"Maybe you're right," he said.
"Kendi hislerimi daha çok dinlemeliyim. Hep işleri soruyorlar, evlilik ne zaman diyorlar.
"I should listen to my own feelings more. They keep asking about work, when's the marriage.
Ama ben hazır değilim.
But I'm not ready.
Henüz mutluluğumu bulmuş değilim."
I haven't found my happiness yet."
Selin, Ege'nin elini tutarak, "Yalnız değilsin,
Selin, taking Ege's hand, said, "You're not alone.
Her zaman yanındayım, bunu unutma."
I'm always here for you, remember that."
Küçük bir gülümseme yüzlerine yayıldı.
A small smile spread across their faces.
Kahve dükkanındaki o sıcak atmosfer onları yeniden sardı, dışarıdaki soğuk havadan uzaklaştırdı.
The warm atmosphere of the coffee shop enveloped them once more, distancing them from the cold weather outside.
Gergin başlayan buluşma, daha sağlam bir bağ geliştirerek, anlayışla sonlandı.
The meeting that began tense ended with a deeper connection and understanding.
İkisi de dışarı çıktıklarında yüklerini biraz bırakmış gibiydi.
When they stepped outside, it was as if they had left some of their burdens behind.
Bu sonbahar günü, Ege için bir dönüm noktası oldu.
This autumn day became a turning point for Ege.
İstanbul'un yoğun karmaşasında bile, yalnız olmadığını hissetti.
Even in the intense hustle of İstanbul, he felt he wasn't alone.
Selin'le vakit geçirmek, ona bunun sadece bir başlangıç olduğunu gösterdi.
Spending time with Selin showed him that this was just the beginning.
Beraberce, geleceğe biraz daha umut dolu baktılar.
Together, they looked to the future with a bit more hope.
