Herkes Kemal’e ve Zeynep’e bakıyordu.

“Galiba cihazınızı lokumuza tatmak istediniz,” dedi Zeynep, espriyle karışık.

"I guess you wanted to taste your device with our lokum," said Zeynep, humorously.

Kemal ise mahcubiyetle başını salladı.

She took out long, thin skewers from the back of the stall.

“Endişelenmeyin, tatlılarımız kadar bu işte de iyiyimdir.”

"Don't worry, I'm as good at this as I am with our sweets."

Zeynep, bir cerrah edasıyla şişleri lokumların içine daldırdı ve büyük bir ustalıkla tableti çıkardı.

With the precision of a surgeon, Zeynep plunged the skewers into the lokum and expertly extracted the tablet.

Kalabalık alkışladı.

The crowd applauded.

Kemal neşeyle ama biraz da utançla teşekkür etti.

Kemal thanked her joyfully, but with a bit of embarrassment.

Gürültülü çarşı artık kahkahalarla doldu.
