En iyi fiyata alacağım, gör ve inan!" dedi, gözlerinde ışıltılarla.

I will get them at the best price, watch and believe!" he said, with a sparkle in his eyes.

Esra gülümsedi.

Esra smiled.

"Kemal, sakın unutma.

"Kemal, don't forget.

Ben buradayım, gerekirse yardım ederim."

I'm here, I can help if needed."

Biraz ilerledikten sonra lokumlarıyla ünlü bir tezgâhtan gelen tatlı kokular burnuna çalındı.

A little further on, the sweet smells from a stall famous for its delights wafted into their noses.

Tezgâhın ardında Mahmut Bey duruyordu. Yüzünde geniş bir gülümseme vardı ve müşteri çekiciliğiyle doluydu.

Behind the stall was Mahmut Bey, wearing a broad smile and full of customer appeal.

Kemal öne çıktı.

Kemal stepped forward.

"Merhaba! Bugün burada en iyi lokumu alacağım.

"Hello! Today, I will buy the best delight here.

Bana güzel bir fiyat verin," dedi kendi ifadesinden pek emin bir şekilde.

Give me a good price," he said, sounding quite confident.

Mahmut Bey, Kemal’i dikkatle süzdü.

Mahmut Bey studied Kemal carefully.

"Tabii ki! Ama iyi bir lokumun fiyatı vardır," diyerek gülümsedi ve biraz lokum tarttı.

"Of course! But a good delight has its price," he said with a smile and weighed some delight.

Kemal başını salladı.

Kemal nodded.

"Şu küçük kutu nedir?

"What is that small box?

Daha büyük bir kutu için ne dersiniz?"

How about a bigger box?"

Mahmut Bey, "Ah, büyük kutu daha güzel.

Mahmut Bey replied, "Ah, the big box is nicer.

Ama fiyat da daha büyük," dedi. Bir göz kırptı.

But the price is also bigger." He winked.

Kemal, pazarlığa başladı.

Kemal began to bargain.

Ciddi bir ifade takındı ve fiyatı indirmeye çalıştı.

He put on a serious expression and tried to lower the price.

Ancak her seferinde Mahmut Bey, yeni bir oyunla karşılık verdi.

But each time, Mahmut Bey countered with a new tactic.

Esra, Kemal’in çabalarını izliyordu.

Esra was watching Kemal's efforts.

Gülümsememek için kendini zor tuttu.

She struggled not to laugh.

Ama Kemal neredeyse yüksek bir fiyata razı olmak üzereydi.

But Kemal was about to accept a nearly high price.

O an Esra devreye girdi.

At that moment, Esra intervened.

"Mahmut Bey," dedi, "en iyi müşteri sadık olanıdır.

"Mahmut Bey," she said, "the best customer is a loyal one.

Biz bu lokumları arkadaşımıza hediye edeceğiz.

We are going to gift these delights to our friend.

Güzel bir hediye olması sizin için de onur olur, değil mi?"

It would be an honor for you, wouldn't it?"

Mahmut Bey gülmeye başladı.

Mahmut Bey started to laugh.

"Esra Hanım, siz çok zekisiniz," dedi.

"Esra Hanım, you are very clever," he said.

"Peki, bu sefer sizin dediğiniz gibi olsun.

"Alright, this time let's do as you say.

Güzel bir fiyat vereceğim."

I'll give you a good price."

Mahmut Bey, büyük bir kutu lokumu sarıp Esra ve Kemal’e uzattı.

Mahmut Bey wrapped a large box of delight and handed it to Esra and Kemal.

"Keyfini çıkarın," dedi gülerek.

"Enjoy," he said smiling.

Kemal ve Esra, kutuyla birlikte çarşıdan ayrıldılar.

Kemal and Esra left the market with the box.

Kemal hafifçe omuz silkti.

Kemal shrugged slightly.

"Biliyorum, esasında iyi pazarlık yapıyordum," dedi.

"I know I was actually bargaining well," he said.

Esra güldü.

Esra laughed.

"Tabii Kemal," dedi.

"Of course, Kemal," she said.

"Ama bazen birlikte çalışmak daha kolay.

"But sometimes it's easier to work together.

Teşekkürler!"
