People sought shade in the park, conversing and admiring the blooming flowers.

อนันต์เดินเข้ามาในสวน ดวงตาของเขามองไปรอบ ๆ.

Anan walked into the park, his eyes scanning the surroundings.

เขาถือกระเป๋าใบเล็กไว้ในมือและรู้สึกประหม่าเล็กน้อย.

He held a small bag in his hand and felt a little anxious.

วันนี้เขามีนัดสำคัญ.

Today, he had an important meeting.

คนที่เขาจะพบคือลมัย เพื่อนเก่าที่เขาเคยสนิทมาก แต่เวลานั้นไม่ได้ทำให้พวกเขาเข้าใจกันเสมอไป.

The person he was meeting was Lamai, an old friend he used to be close with, but time hadn’t always brought them understanding.

Lamai was standing under a large tree, her fingers busily tapping on her mobile phone.

Although she appeared cheerful, part of her reflected on their past relationship.

พอเงยหน้าขึ้นเห็นอนันต์ เธอเก็บโทรศัพท์และยิ้มอย่างจริงใจ.

When she looked up and saw Anan, she put her phone away and smiled sincerely.

"สวัสดีลมัย" อนันต์เริ่มพูด เขายื่นกระเป๋าเล็ก ๆ นั้นให้ลมัย.

"Hello, Lamai," he began, extending the small bag to her.

"ของขวัญเล็ก ๆ น้อย ๆ สำหรับเธอ"

"A little gift for you."

"ขอบคุณนะ" ลมัยตอบ พลางรับของขวัญมาด้วยความรู้สึกอ่อนโยน.

"Thank you," Lamai replied, accepting the gift tenderly.

เขาสังเกตเหงื่อที่ซึมออกมาจากใบหน้า และรู้สึกว่าใจเต้นรัว.

He noticed the sweat beading on her face and felt his heart racing.

ทั้งคู่เริ่มเดินไปด้วยกันในสวน.

The two began walking together in the park.

พวกเขาคุยกันเรื่องทั่วไป หลีกเลี่ยงเรื่องสะเทือนใจในอดีต.

They talked about general topics, avoiding the painful subjects of the past.

However, dark clouds unknowingly began to gather, and before long, rain suddenly poured down.

"Oh, it’s raining now! Let’s take shelter in the pavilion over there," Lamai said, and ran towards the nearby gazebo.

อนันต์ตามไปทันที.

Anan followed immediately.

ทั้งสองนั่งใกล้กันและมองออกไปยังเม็ดฝนที่ตกกระแทกพื้น.

They sat close together, watching the raindrops hit the ground.

"ลมัย..." อนันต์พูดเสียงแผ่ว "ขอโทษนะ เรื่องครั้งนั้น... ฉันไม่อยากให้มันอยู่ระหว่างเราอีกต่อไป"

"Lamai..." Anan spoke softly, "I’m sorry about back then... I don’t want it to be between us any longer."

ลมัยหันมามองเขา.

Lamai turned to look at him.

"ฉันก็เสียใจเหมือนกันนะ แต่บางทีเราอาจต้องพูดเรื่องนี้กันจริงจังบ้าง"

"I’m sorry too, but maybe we need to talk seriously about it."

พวกเขาคุยกันอย่างตรงไปตรงมา เปิดใจมากกว่าทุกครั้งที่ผ่านมา.

They spoke openly and honestly, more so than ever before.

เม็ดฝนยังคงตกลง แต่ทั้งสองกลับรู้สึกเบาใจขึ้น.

The rain continued to fall, but they felt a weight lifted off them.

When the rain stopped and the sunlight began to break through again, a gentle breeze carried the scent of fresh flowers.

Anan and Lamai looked at each other and smiled.

จากวันนั้นเป็นต้นมา ทั้งคู่พยายามเน้นความเข้าใจและความเห็นอกเห็นใจ.

From that day forward, both of them focused on understanding and compassion.
