Arthit traveled to the market to look for a special souvenir for a friend.

เขาตั้งใจว่าจะต้องได้ของถูกใจในราคาที่คุ้มค่า

He was determined to find something pleasing at a reasonable price.

หลังจากเดินผ่านร้านนับไม่ถ้วน ในที่สุดเขาก็หยุดที่ร้านของสุดา

After walking past countless stalls, he finally stopped at Suda's shop.

สินค้าของสุดาดูแปลกตา มีทั้งผ้าไทยสีสันสดใส และของที่ระลึกที่ไม่เหมือนใคร

Suda's products looked unique, with colorful Thai fabric and one-of-a-kind souvenirs.

สุดาสังเกตเห็นอาทิตย์เข้ามาในร้าน เธอยิ้มต้อนรับ

Suda noticed Arthit entering her shop and greeted him with a smile.

"สวัสดีค่ะ คุณลูกค้าสนใจอะไรบ้างคะ?"

"Hello! What are you interested in, dear customer?"

อาทิตย์มองไปรอบๆ และตาของเขาสะดุดที่ตุ๊กตาไม้สลักรูปช้าง

Arthit looked around and his eyes caught a wooden carved elephant doll.

"ครับ ผมสนใจตุ๊กตาตัวนี้ มันสวยมากๆ ขอราคาหน่อยครับ"

"Yes, I’m interested in this figurine. It's very beautiful. Can you give me the price?"

สุดาส่งรอยยิ้มแต่เธอก็ไม่ได้ลดราคาง่ายๆ

Suda smiled but didn't reduce the price easily.

"ตัวนี้ราคา 300 บาท ค่ะ"

"This one is 300 baht."

อาทิตย์หัวเราะเบาๆ

Arthit chuckled softly.

"ลดหน่อยได้ไหมครับ พอดีผมมาตลาดวันสงกรานต์ ราคาพิเศษน่าจะดีนะครับ"

"Could you give me a discount? Since I'm shopping during Songkran, a special price would be nice."

สุดาจิบชาเย็นพลางตอบ "สงกรานต์ก็คือสงกรานต์ค่ะ ราคาก็ราคานี้แหละ"

Suda sipped her iced tea and replied, "Songkran is Songkran; the price remains the same."

อาทิตย์ไม่ยอมแพ้

Arthit didn't give up.

"ถ้าผมซื้อสองตัวล่ะครับ ได้ลดอีกไหม?"

"What if I buy two? Would I get a further discount?"

สุดาหยุดคิดแล้วบอกว่า "ก็อาจจะลดได้เล็กน้อยค่ะ แต่ไม่ได้มากนัก"

Suda paused to think and said, "I might be able to offer a small discount, but not much."

อาทิตย์พยายามวิธีใหม่ เขาเรียกผู้คนรอบๆ เข้ามาช่วยดู

Arthit tried a new tactic, calling people around to help.

"เพื่อนๆ คิดว่าตุ๊กตานี้ควรจะราคาเท่าไหร่? น่ารักดีไหมครับ?"

"Friends, what do you think this figurine should cost? Isn’t it cute?"

ผู้คนบางคนหยุดดูและยิ้มให้ แต่ทุกคนดูเหมือนจะสนุกกับเหตุการณ์นี้มากกว่า ด้วยเสียงหัวเราะของทุกคน มันเพิ่มบรรยากาศให้ครึกครื้น

Some people stopped to look and smiled, but everyone seemed more entertained by the scene than anything else, with all the laughter making the atmosphere more lively.

สุดาอดขำไม่ได้

Suda couldn't help but laugh.

เธอคิดว่าอาทิตย์เป็นลูกค้าที่มีเสน่ห์

She thought Arthit was a charming customer.

"ได้ค่ะ 280 บาท เป็นราคาที่ดีที่สุดแล้วนะคะ"

"Alright, 280 baht is the best price."

อาทิตย์เขารู้สึกว่ามันยังสูงเกินไป เขาจึงตีราคาจากใจ "20 dollars!" เขากล่าวอย่างไม่คิด

Arthit still felt it was a bit high, so he blurted out, "20 dollars!" without thinking.

สุดาขมวดคิ้ว แต่เมื่อเธอคำนวณอัตราแลกเปลี่ยนก็อดหัวเราะไม่ได้

Suda frowned, but after calculating the exchange rate, she couldn’t help but laugh.

"ข้อผิดพลาดน่ารักจริงๆ! พูดผิดนิดหน่อยก็ดีค่ะ ได้ลดพิเศษเลย 270 บาท เป็นราคาเดียวจ้า"

"What a cute mistake! You misspoke a bit, so you'll get a special discount. 270 baht it is."

ทั้งคู่ต่างหัวเราะกับความเข้าใจผิดนี้

Both laughed at this misunderstanding.

สุดายอมลดราคาและอาทิตย์ก็ได้ของฝากที่เขาต้องการในที่สุด

Suda agreed to reduce the price, and Arthit got the souvenir he wanted.

เขาขอบคุณสุดา และบอกว่าเขารู้ว่าประสบการณ์ที่ได้รับจากต่อล้อต่อเถียงวันนี้มีค่ามากกว่าเงินที่จ่ายไป

He thanked Suda, saying he realized that the experience he got from bargaining that day was worth more than the money spent.

อาทิตย์จากลาและเดินหันกลับบ้านด้วยรอยยิ้ม

Arthit bid farewell and walked home with a smile.

บทเรียนจากวันนี้ทำให้เขารู้ว่าบางครั้งเพียงแค่ประสบการณ์และความสนุกที่ได้รับในการต่อรองก็มีค่ายิ่งกว่าเงินที่ออมไว้

The lesson from today taught him that sometimes the experience and fun gained from bargaining are more valuable than the money saved.
