Amidst this vibrant scene, a couple walks through the market excitedly.

นั่นคือนิรันดร์และมาลัย

They are Nirand and Malai.

นิรันดร์เป็นคนเชียงใหม่ที่ชอบเล่นตลก ส่วนมาลัยเดินทางมาจากต่างประเทศ โดยเธอต้องการสัมผัสกับวัฒนธรรมไทยแท้ ๆ และต้องการหาของฝากที่เป็นเอกลักษณ์

Nirand is a native of Chiang Mai who loves to joke, while Malai has traveled from abroad with the intent to experience true Thai culture and find unique souvenirs.

ขณะเดินชมสินค้า มาลัยพบเจอวัตถุอันหนึ่ง เธอมองด้วยความสนใจ

While browsing the goods, Malai spots an object that catches her interest.

มันทำจากไม้ รูปร่างแปลกประหลาด เธอจึงถามนิรันดร์ว่า “นี่มันคืออะไร?”

It is made of wood with an unusual shape, prompting her to ask Nirand, "What is this?"

นิรันดร์เหล่แล้วคิดสนุก จึงบอกว่า “นี่คือของศิลปะไทยสมัยเก่า หายากมาก!”

Nirand, smirking with playful intent, responds, "This is an ancient Thai art piece. Very rare!"

มาลัยเชื่อในทันที เธอหัวเราะอย่างมีความสุขแล้วซื้อมาเก็บเป็นของฝาก

Malai believes him immediately, laughing happily as she buys it to keep as a souvenir.

ระหว่างที่ทั้งสองยังเดินต่อ เธอนำมันไปอวดพ่อค้าในซุ้มข้างกัน “ดูสิ นี่คือศิลปะไทยนะ!”

As the two continue walking, she shows it off to a vendor in the next stall, exclaiming, "Look, this is Thai art!"

พ่อค้าเหล่ตามองด้วยความสับสน แล้วบอกว่า “อ้าว นี่มันไม่ใช่ศิลปะ มันคือที่บดพริกแบบดั้งเดิมของไทย!”

The vendor looks at it with confusion and says, "Oh, no, this isn’t art. It’s a traditional Thai chili grinder!"

ทั้งนิรันดร์และมาลัยหัวเราะพร้อมกัน

Both Nirand and Malai burst into laughter.

นิรันดร์ยอมรับว่าเขาแค่อยากสนุกส่วนมาลัยเองก็ไม่ถือโกรธ

Nirand admits he was just trying to have fun, and Malai isn’t upset.

หลังจากนั้น ทั้งสองคนตัดสินใจซื้อทั้งที่บดพริกและของตกแต่งจริงเพื่อจำความทรงจำที่ขำขันคืนนี้

Afterwards, they decide to purchase both the chili grinder and some genuine decorative items to remember this amusing night.
