ในป่าที่หนาทึบแห่งหนึ่งในภาคเหนือของประเทศไทย เสียงหยดฝนเพิ่งเริ่มตกลงมาบนใบไม้ใหญ่

In a dense forest located in the northern part of Thailand, the sound of raindrops had just started falling on the large leaves.

นีรันด์เดินเข้าไปในป่าที่เขารู้จักมาตั้งแต่เด็ก

Niran entered the forest he had known since he was a child.

ใจกลางป่านี้คือที่ที่เขามักจะมากับยายของเขาเพื่อรวบรวมวัสดุสำหรับทำกระทงในเทศกาลลอยกระทง

The heart of this forest is where he often came with his grandmother to gather materials for making krathongs during the Loy Krathong Festival.

Niran aimed to create the most beautiful krathong in memory of his grandmother, who first taught him how to float the krathong.

Today, he came with Suda and Monop who were helping to lookout, but all three knew that the heavy rain might make it more difficult to find materials.

The banana leaves, once plentiful, had nearly disappeared.

ดอกไม้ที่เคยบานสดใสถูกลมพัดหักไปหลายดอก

The brightly blooming flowers were blown off by the wind.

แต่ความต้องการของนีรันด์นั้นแน่วแน่

But Niran's determination was unwavering.

เขาต้องการทำกระทงที่เรืองรองที่สุดเพื่อให้ยายเห็นจากฟากฟ้าได้

He wanted to make a krathong that shone brightly so that his grandmother could see it from the heavens.

“เราจะไปลึกกว่านี้ดีไหม?” สุดาถามด้วยความเป็นห่วง

“Should we go deeper?” Suda asked with concern.

ความเสี่ยงที่จะเจอพายุใหญ่คือสิ่งที่ทุกคนตระหนัก

The risk of encountering a major storm was something everyone was aware of.

แต่หลังจากคิดสักพัก นีรันด์ก็พูดว่า “ผมจะเข้าไปต่ออีกนิด พวกคุณรอที่นี่เถอะ”

But after a moment of thought, Niran said, “I’ll go a bit further. You both wait here.”

เมื่อนีรันด์เริ่มเดินลึกเข้าไปในป่า เขาพบว่าป่านั้นสวยงามอย่างไม่น่าเชื่อ

As Niran started to walk deeper into the forest, he found the forest to be unbelievably beautiful.

ดอกไม้หลากสีขึ้นพราวพราวตามเส้นทาง ใบไม้เขียวอ่อนสั่นไหวเบา ๆ ตามสายลม

Flowers of various colors dotted the path, and light green leaves quivered gently in the breeze.

แต่ท้องฟ้าเริ่มมืดครึ้มขึ้น พายุเริ่มมาทางเขา

But the sky began to darken as the storm approached him.

เมื่อนีรันด์เจอป่าใหญ่ที่ซ่อนตัวอยู่ เขาพบทุกสิ่งที่เขาต้องการ ทั้งดอกบัว ดอกดาวเรือง และใบตองที่หาได้ยาก

When Niran found the hidden great forest, he discovered everything he needed: lotus flowers, marigolds, and the rare banana leaves.

However, the storm began to intensify.

He had to decide whether to return immediately or sit and wait out the storm.

He sat under a big tree, reminiscing about memories of his grandmother.

There he was, a young boy laughing with his grandmother while gathering flowers.

A sense of peace filled his heart.

เมื่อพายุสงบลง นีรันด์ได้เริ่มเดินกลับไปหาเพื่อนๆ ของเขาที่รออยู่

When the storm calmed down, Niran began to walk back to his friends who were waiting.

เมื่อเขากลับมาพร้อมกับวัสดุเต็มมือ สุดาและมนพก็ตื่นเต้นที่เห็นว่านีรันด์กลับมาได้อย่างปลอดภัย

When he returned with his hands full of materials, both Suda and Monop were excited to see that Niran had returned safely.

ในวันงานลอยกระทง นีรันด์ได้นำเสนอกระทงอันงดงามที่สร้างขึ้นด้วยความรักและแรงบันดาลใจต่อยายของเขา

On the day of the Loy Krathong celebration, Niran presented a magnificent krathong crafted with love and inspiration for his grandmother.

That night, as the krathong floated down the river, the feeling of connection to nature and the community was a poignant reminder.

Niran learned the importance of patience and being present, accompanied by the laughter of Suda and Monop standing by his side.

The sense of belonging to the community completely eased his feelings of loneliness.
