The atmosphere was vibrant with the sounds of chatter and the aroma of street food.

This was where Niran and Lamai were seated.

Niran and Lamai hastened their boat toward where the merchant was.

"นั่นไง!" ละมัยกระซิบ

"There he is!" Lamai whispered.

พ่อค้ากำลังนั่งอยู่ในเรืออีกฝั่งของคลอง

The merchant was sitting in a boat on the other side of the canal.

“เราจะทำอย่างไรดี” ละมัยถาม

“What should we do?” Lamai asked.

นีรันต์ยืนพิจารณา ใช้สมองคิดแผน

Niran stood pondering, using his wits to devise a plan.

เขาไม่อยากเผชิญหน้ามากนักกลัวจะสร้างเรื่อง แต่เวลานี้มีเพียงทางเดียว

He was reluctant to confront too directly, fearing complications, but at that moment, there was only one option.

นีรันต์เรียกพ่อค้า

Niran called out to the merchant.

เสียงของเขาท่ามกลางสายฝนทำให้พ่อค้าหันมามอง

His voice amidst the rain caught the merchant's attention.

"สวัสดีครับ ขอโทษที่มาแบบกะทันหัน แต่ผมต้องการคุยกับคุณ" เขากล่าวอย่างสุภาพ

"Hello, sorry to approach you like this, but I need to speak with you," he said politely.

ฝนตกหนักขึ้น ความตึงเครียดเพิ่มสูงขึ้น

The rain intensified, along with the tension.

"อยากได้เหรอ เจ้าสินค้านั่น?” พ่อค้าถามด้วยน้ำเสียงทึ้งเพราะหาไม่เจอเหตุผลที่นีรันต์สนใจนัก

“You want that item?" the merchant asked, puzzled as to why Niran was so interested.

นีรันต์ตอบว่ามันเป็นของครอบครัวและมีความสำคัญต่อเขามาก

Niran explained that the item was a family heirloom of great importance to him.

ต่อมาเขากล่าวถึงข้อเสนอ "ถ้าคุณยอมคืนให้ ผมจะบริจาคเงินให้วัดเพื่อถวายทานในวันอาสาฬหบูชา"

He then proposed an offer, "If you agree to return it, I will donate money to the temple as an offering for Asalha Puja Day."

พ่อค้าเงียบคิดนาน สุดท้ายยิ้มออกมา

The merchant thought quietly for a long time before finally smiling.

"เอาแบบนั้นก็ได้" เขายอมคืนมรดกให้

"Alright, let's do it that way," he agreed to return the heirloom.

เมื่อนีรันต์และละมัยเดินไปยังวัดเพื่อนำเงินไปบริจาค เขารู้สึกพอใจกับผลที่เกิดขึ้น

As Niran and Lamai walked to the temple to make the donation, he felt satisfied with the outcome.

"ขอบคุณ" นีรันต์กล่าวกับละมัย

"Thank you," Niran said to Lamai.

"เธอทำให้ฉันเชื่อว่าความมั่นใจและการเสียสละสามารถทำให้โลกดีขึ้นได้"

"You made me believe that confidence and sacrifice can indeed make the world a better place."

ละมัยยิ้มตอบ "เราได้ทำให้วันนี้มีความหมายมากยิ่งขึ้นใช่ไหม?”

Lamai smiled back, "Haven’t we just added more meaning to today?"
