นีรานกับสมศรียืนหน้าบ้าน มองออกไปที่สนามหลังบ้านที่มีรั้วไม้อยู่สูง

Niran and Somsri stood in front of their house, looking out at the backyard with its high wooden fence.

They were discussing their plans to plant a lemon tree.

"The weather is really nice today, perfect for planting a lemon tree," Niran said cheerfully.

Somsri smiled gently, her face showing some doubt.

"เออ แต่ว่าเพื่อนบ้านของเราก็ยังไม่น่าไว้ใจเลยนะ

"Yeah, but our neighbor still can't be trusted.

เขาชอบเล่นแผลง ๆ ตลอด"

He's always playing pranks."

ทั้งคู่ตัดสินใจจะลองปลูกมะนาวในวันนี้ แม้ว่าจะรู้ถึงธรรมชาติของเพื่อนบ้านที่ขี้เล่นอย่างไม่รู้จักหยุด

The two decided to try planting the lemon tree that day, even though they were aware of their playful neighbor's unending tricks.

สมศรีตอนต้นเป็นคนที่ตั้งสติและมีความรอบคอบ เธอช่วยนีรานขุดดินและวางสิ่งที่พวกเขาคิดว่าเป็นเมล็ดมะนาวลงในหลุม

Somsri, initially a person of composure and meticulousness, helped Niran dig the soil and place what they thought were lemon seeds into the ground.

เวลาผ่านไป นีรานตั้งใจรดน้ำต้น "มะนาว" ของเขาทุกวัน มีความหวังว่าจะได้ผลผลิตสำหรับทำขนมหวานในวันสงกรานต์

Time passed, and Niran diligently watered his "lemon" plant every day, hoping for a harvest to make desserts for Songkran.

However, the seeds didn't sprout as expected.

Somsri remarked, "I think our neighbor might have tricked us again; right now, nothing has come out of the ground yet."

นีรานส่ายหัวพร้อมรอยยิ้ม

Niran shook his head with a smile.

"ให้โอกาสมะนาวเราอีกสักหน่อยนะ เอาไว้ครั้งนี้เราก็รู้เองว่าอะไรจะเกิดขึ้น"

"Let's give our lemons a little more time, and then we'll see what happens."

จนถึงวันสงกรานต์ เพื่อนบ้านหลายคนมารวมตัวกันที่บ้านของนีรานและสมศรี

By the day of Songkran, many neighbors gathered at Niran and Somsri's house.

แต่ขณะนีรานกำลังพูดถึงแผนการปลูกต้นมะนาว ทันใดนั้นก็ได้ยินเสียง "ป๊อป! ป๊อป!" จากสนามหลังบ้าน

But as Niran was talking about the lemon tree planting plan, they suddenly heard a "pop! pop!" from the backyard.

เพื่อน ๆ ต่างมองไปที่เสียงนั้น แล้วการประทุขึ้นของข้าวโพดคั่วราวกับดอกไม้ไฟ

Friends turned to the noise and then witnessed popcorn bursting like fireworks.

ทุกคนหัวเราะไปพร้อมกัน มีเสียงหัวเราะกระหึ่มจากเพื่อนบ้าน

Everyone laughed together, with a thunderous laugh emerging from the neighbor.

"โอ้ นี่มันข้าวโพดคั่ว!" นีรานทราบแล้วว่าเมล็ดมะนาวคือข้าวโพดและกลายเป็นวัตถุดอกไม้ไฟที่ทำให้วันสงกรานต์ของเขามีชีวิตชีวา

"Oh, it's popcorn!" Niran realized that the lemon seeds were actually corn, turning into a firework-like spectacle that enlivened his Songkran.

สมศรีมองดูนีรานที่ยิ้มอย่างอบอุ่น พร้อมเสริมว่า "น่าจะดีนะ ที่เราได้เรียนรู้ว่าอะไรบางทีมันไม่ได้ไปตามแผน แต่ก็น่าอัศจรรย์ได้"

Somsri looked at Niran warmly, adding, "It's good that we learned sometimes things don't go as planned, but they can still be amazing."

นีรานหัวเราะเสียงดัง "ใช่แล้ว!

Niran laughed loudly, "That's right!

เราคงไม่จำเป็นต้องจริงจังเกินไป เราควรสนุกกับสิ่งที่ไม่คาดฝันเสมอ"

We don't have to be too serious; we should always enjoy the unexpected."
