Amid the laughter and resonant music on a short street in the old city of Ayutthaya, Ananda wandered through stalls during the national celebration of Thai Elephant Day.

The sky was bright, with a cool breeze typical of late winter transitioning into early summer, giving a refreshing yet festive atmosphere.
