Ljubljana je poleti živahna.
Ljubljana is lively in the summer.
People rush through the streets, the sun shines on the city squares, and there's a sense of warmth in the air.
V središču mesta, sredi vsega vrveža, stoji policijska postaja.
In the city center, amidst all the hustle and bustle, stands a police station.
Za zidovi so plakati dogodkov in obvestila.
Behind its walls are event posters and notices.
The large windows let in light, which plays with shadows on the floor.
Mateja je danes nervozna.
Mateja is nervous today.
Njeno srce bije hitreje, ko stopi skozi vrata policijske postaje.
Her heart beats faster as she steps through the door of the police station.
Njeno kolo je izginilo.
Her bicycle has disappeared.
Ljubila ga je, skoraj kot prijatelja.
She loved it almost like a friend.
"Kamnito ti," si reče, "kako si mi to lahko naredilo?
"Kamnito ti," she says to herself, "how could you do this to me?"
"Za pultom na recepciji policist zapisuje izjave podobne njeni.
Behind the reception desk, an officer is taking statements similar to hers.
Ustavi ga.
She stops him.
"Prosim," reče, "moje kolo je izginilo.
"Please," she says, "my bicycle has disappeared."
"V tistem trenutku Bojan, ki je zmeden, hiti proti postaji.
At that moment, Bojan, who is confused, rushes towards the station.
Njegovo srce bije podobno hitro kot Matejino.
His heart is beating as fast as Mateja's.
He can hardly believe he got so mixed up.
At home, he noticed that the bicycle he brought back was entirely different from his.
He was too late in realizing that the bicycle was the same color and shape as Mateja's.
Ko Bojan vstopi in vidi Matejo, zardel omahne k njej.
When Bojan enters and sees Mateja, he blushes and stumbles over to her.
V rokah drži njeno kolo.
In his hands, he holds her bicycle.
Mateja ga prepozna takoj.
Mateja recognizes it immediately.
Her eyes shift from anger to surprise.
"Bojan!
"Bojan!"
" vzklikne, "kaj si delal?
she exclaims, "what were you doing?"
"Bojan, zmeden, a iskren, ji ponudi kolo nazaj.
Bojan, confused but sincere, offers her the bicycle back.
"Oprosti," reče, "resnično oprosti.
"I'm sorry," he says, "really sorry.
Bil sem zasanjan.
I was daydreaming.
Nisem opazil.
I didn't notice."
"Mateja pogleduje med kolesom in Bojanom.
Mateja glances between the bicycle and Bojan.
Njena razdraženost se počasi spreminja v smeh.
Her irritation slowly turns into laughter.
"Ah, Bojan," se zasmeje, "vedno si bil tak.
"Oh, Bojan," she laughs, "you've always been like that.
Brez skrbi.
Don't worry."
"Smejeta se skupaj v to poletno popoldne, medtem ko ljudje okrog njiju hite po svojih opravkih.
They laugh together in this summer afternoon while people around them hurry about their business.
Mateja realizes that things aren't always as important as they seem.
Bojan, on the other hand, promises himself that next time, he'll watch where he's going.
In tako sta, prijatelja, še naprej uživala toplo poletje v Ljubljani.
And so, as friends, they continued to enjoy the warm summer in Ljubljana.
