The spring breeze gently blew through the trees on Grajski grič in Ljubljana.

The Ljubljana Castle, bathed in sunlight, was as always full of visitors, as today was the international Labor Day holiday.

Miha walked along the stone path to the top, in his mind a traveler through history, wishing to immerse himself in the past and gain new insights through historical relics.

  • Vendar Miha v srcu ni iskal samo starih zgodb.

However, Miha wasn't just seeking old stories in his heart.

He felt he lacked a genuine connection with people.

He held a notebook in his hand, where he wrote thoughts and notes for his research.

Occasionally, he looked around and wished he could share this journey with someone.

At the top of the stairs stood Tomaž, the tour guide.

  • Oranžni šali, ki mu je opletal okoli vratu, so ga naredili še bolj prepoznavnega in samozavestnega.

The orange scarves wrapped around his neck made him even more recognizable and confident.

  • Vedel je, kako pritegniti pozornost turistov s svojim šarmom.

He knew how to attract the attention of tourists with his charm.

"Welcome to Ljubljana Castle, please, join my group," he greeted the gathered crowd.

  • Med skupino je stala Neža.

    Among the group stood Neža.

  • Bila je stara prijateljica Miha.

She was an old friend of Miha.

  • Pred mnogimi leti sta delila marsikatero misel in razlago umetnosti, vendar sta skozi čas in nesporazume izgubila stik.

Many years ago they shared many thoughts and interpretations of art, but over time and misunderstandings, they lost touch.

Now she was a successful artist who had come to Slovenia for an exhibition of her works.

Tomaž knew her, secretly admired her talent, and hoped to have his moment with her someday.

She too hoped to find her way back to old friends.

As Miha approached the group, he suddenly saw Neža.

  • Srce mu je poskočilo.

    His heart leaped.

  • Bi jo moral pozdraviti?

    Should he greet her?

  • Spomini na nesporazume so ga obtežili.

The memories of misunderstandings weighed him down.

"Maybe she doesn't want to talk to me," he thought.

  • Toda ravno v tistem trenutku se je Neža obrnila in njune oči so se srečale.

But just at that moment, Neža turned, and their eyes met.

She was visibly surprised, but soon a smile appeared on her face.

  • Miha je zbral pogum in se ji približal.

Miha gathered his courage and approached her.

  • „Neža, ti si?“ je vprašal nekoliko negotovo.

"Neža, is that you?" he asked somewhat uncertainly.

  • Neža se je zasmejala.

    Neža laughed.

  • „Miha, kako dolgo že! Ne pričakovala te tukaj.“

"Miha, it's been so long! I didn't expect to see you here."

  • Tomaž je bil ravno v vodenju skupine, a je opazil to srečanje.

Tomaž was just in the middle of guiding the group but noticed this reunion.

He was happy for both of them, but also felt a slight twinge of envy.

He wanted to attract Neža's attention in the same way, but for now, he had to finish his duty.

  • Miha in Neža sta se skupaj zasanjano sprehodila po stopnicah do stolpa.

Miha and Neža dreamily wandered together up the stairs to the tower.

Beneath them was a magnificent view of Ljubljana, people celebrated, laughed, and enjoyed the sunny day.

It was a perfect moment for the past to intertwine with the present.

"You know," Miha began, "I've always regretted what happened between us. We always had so much to say, and then..."

  • Neža ga je prekinila.

    Neža interrupted him.

"I'm sorry too. I didn't know how foolish I was then. I've always wondered if we'd ever be friends again."

  • Miha je začutil olajšanje.

Miha felt a sense of relief.

It seemed as though the places they once built out of words were coming back to life.

  • Tomaž se je medtem pridružil.

    Meanwhile, Tomaž joined them.

His duty was finished, and he wanted to talk to Neža.

"I think we all keep too many shelters around our hearts, don't we?" Miha said, looking at Tomaž for confirmation.

  • Tomaž je prikimal.

    Tomaž nodded.

  • Bil je čas, da razkrije svoja čustva.

It was time to reveal his feelings.

In upam, da bova večkrat skupaj.“

"Neža, I have to tell you, I've admired you for a long time. And I hope we can spend more time together."

  • Neža se je rahlo nasmehnila in zardela.

    Neža smiled softly and blushed.

These were warm words she had long missed.

  • Veter je nosil vonj pomladi, in z njim obljube novih začetkov.

The wind carried the scent of spring, along with it promises of new beginnings.

People who were once separated had now found a new path.

  • Preden so zapustili grad, so si trdno obljubili, da bodo ostali v stiku.

Before they left the castle, they firmly promised to stay in touch.

How beautiful was the day at Ljubljana Castle, which connected them in a way they never imagined.

Miha walked back through the corridors, not as a loner, but as a person with new friendships and new opportunities.

With a peaceful heart, he understood that historical buildings are not the only things that build bridges; sometimes people do too, and that was the strongest realization for him.
