Matjaž had walked these paths many times and knew them well.

Zjutraj sta se zbrala na začetku poti.

In the morning, they met at the start of the trail.

Matjaž je nosil nahrbtnik, poln potrebščin, Katja pa je uživala v zvokih gozdnega vetra.

Matjaž carried a backpack full of essentials, while Katja enjoyed the sounds of the forest wind.

"To je moja najljubša pot," je dejal Matjaž, ko sta začela hoditi.

"This is my favorite path," Matjaž said as they began to walk.

"Videla boš najboljše prizore.

"You will see the best views."

As they continued, the path became steeper.

Katja se je trudila slediti hitremu tempu.

Katja struggled to keep up with the fast pace.

Her thoughts were filled with admiration for Matjaž's endurance.

"Lahko zmorem," si je večkrat ponovila, medtem ko je poslušala šumanje dreves in ptičje petje.

"I can do this," she repeated to herself, while listening to the rustling of the trees and the birds singing.

A nenadoma je Katja nerodno stopila.

But suddenly, Katja stepped awkwardly.

"Auu!

"Ouch!"

"Don't panic," he whispered, as he quickly pulled out a band and some dry branches from his backpack.

Previdno je izdelal opornico za Katjin gleženj.

Carefully, he made a splint for Katja's ankle.

"It'll be okay," he tried to reassure her.

"Mobitel ne lovi signala," je ugotovil, ko je poskusil poklicati za pomoč.

"The cell phone doesn't have a signal," he realized as he attempted to call for help.

"Moramo se vrniti.

"We need to go back."

" Katja je pokimala, čeprav je bila razočarana.

Katja nodded, although she was disappointed.

Pot do bližnje pastirske koče je bila dolga, a Matjaž je ni pustil sami.

The path to the nearby shepherd's hut was long, but Matjaž didn’t leave her alone.

As it began to get dark, they heard a distant ringing.

"Pastirji," je rekel Matjaž z olajšanjem v glasu.

"Shepherds," said Matjaž with relief in his voice.

"Počakaj tu, Katja.

"Wait here, Katja.

Hitro bom nazaj.

I'll be back quickly."

"Tekel je proti zvoku in kmalu naletel na pastirja, ki je bil pripravljen pomagati.

He ran towards the sound and soon found a shepherd willing to help.

"Pridemo po njo," je obljubil starec.

"We'll come for her," the old man promised.

Kmalu so vsi skupaj hodili nazaj, Matjaž je nosil težje stvari, pastir pa je podpirala Katjo.

Soon, they were all walking back together, Matjaž carrying the heavier items, while the shepherd supported Katja.

"Zahvaljujoč tebi smo varno zmogli," je rekla Katja, ko so končno prišli do koče.

"Thanks to you, we made it safely," Katja said as they finally reached the hut.

Tam sta preživela noč na toplem, počasi srkajoč vroč čaj.

There, they spent the night warm, slowly sipping hot tea.

Naslednje jutro je bilo lepo in jasno.

The next morning was beautiful and clear.

Matjaž je pogledal Katjo, ki je zdaj hodila z opornico.

Matjaž looked at Katja, who was now walking with the splint.

"Hvala, ker sem bil potrpežljiv," je rekla.

"Thank you for being patient," she said.

"Tudi jaz sem se nekaj naučila.

"I also learned something.

Zmorem več, kot sem mislila.

I can do more than I thought."

"Matjaž se je nasmehnil.

Matjaž smiled.

"Morda je čas, da drugič načrtujem bolj previdno," je priznal.

"Maybe it's time for me to plan more carefully next time," he admitted.

"Samo narava ima svoje načrte.

"Nature has its own plans."
