The sun's rays gently caressed the tree canopies surrounding the boarding school where a new school semester had begun.

  • Luka je sedel ob oknu svoje sobe.

Luka sat by the window of his room.

  • Pogledal je čez zelena polja in ob pomoči svežega poletnega vetra sanjaril o svojih zgodbah.

He gazed over the green fields and, with the help of the fresh summer breeze, daydreamed about his stories.

  • Pisanje je bilo zanj drugo življenje, polno raziskovanja in ustvarjanja.

Writing was a second life for him, full of exploration and creation.

  • A Luka ni bil sam.

    But Luka was not alone.

There was also Nina, a newcomer to the school who needed help.

Most of the students welcomed her kindly, but Luka was the one who offered more than just a fleeting smile.

Although he was usually introverted, he felt he needed to help Nina adapt.

A friendship sparked between them, one that gave him no peace.

Every year, there were literary competitions at school.

  • Luka si ga je vedno želel osvojiti.

Luka had always wanted to win them.

This clearly expressed desire was further fueled by the presence of teacher Mateja, whom he respected and from whom he sought praise.

Luka had already written quite a few stories, but he was never completely satisfied.

Doubt constantly crossed his mind, the thought "is this the best I can do?"

While the bells announced the start of new classes, an internal struggle between his desire to write and his friendship ensued.

He helped Nina with school matters, joined her for lunch, and introduced her to new friends.

Yet each day, he returned to his writing desk full of concern that he was running out of time.

As the competition deadline approached, Luka made a decision.

He told Nina he needed to dedicate some time to his story.

  • Nina je razumela in ga spodbudila.

    Nina understood and encouraged him.

Almost until the last moment, he sat and wrote; the words slowly formed into something he felt could be worthwhile.

  • Na dan oddaje je bil Luka napet.

On the day of submission, Luka was tense.

He was uncertain whether his words carried the weight he wanted to convey.

  • A njegove misli so ostale zbrane, submisivni polet nas je jeseni prinesel lastni občutek miru.

But his thoughts remained collected, the submissive summer brought its own sense of peace in the fall.

  • Ko so rezultati prišli, je bil Luka presenečen.

When the results came in, Luka was surprised.

  • Njegovo delo je osvojilo prvo mesto.

    His work won first place.

  • Šok ga je napolnil z novim ponosom.

Shock filled him with newfound pride.

Mateja approached him—not just with a smile, but with words of encouragement that gently rumbled in his ears.

For the first time in a long while, he felt heard, accepted, and truly worthy.

He realized that helping Nina had shaped his thoughts—not just on paper, but also in life.

His confidence was strengthened by the friendship he had woven with Nina.

  • Pasovi prihodnosti so bili jasnejši.

The pathways of the future became clearer.

Luka saw that he could achieve more than just personal success.

He realized the power of friendship and how it can unite individuals and lead them to new personal victories.

  • In s tem je poletje na internatu postalo začetek Luka novega življenja, polnega samozavesti in odprtosti.

And with that, the summer at the boarding school marked the beginning of Luka's new life, full of confidence and openness.
