  • Bratislava, v starom meste, vzduch vonia po jeseni.

Bratislava, in the old town, the air smells of autumn.

The streets are filled with people hurrying to the market.

  • Jana kráča pomaly po dláždených uličkách, hľadá stánok s kvetinami.

Jana walks slowly through the cobblestone alleys, looking for a flower stall.

  • Blíži sa Deň všetkých svätých, a ona chce nájsť tie najkrajšie chryzantémy pre svojich starých rodičov.

Deň všetkých svätých is approaching, and she wants to find the most beautiful chrysanthemums for her grandparents.

Flowers are brought to graves as a symbol of love and remembrance.

  • Jana zastane pri prvom stánku.

Jana stops at the first stall.

  • Žiarivé farby chryzantém vytvárajú nádherný obraz.

The bright colors of the chrysanthemums create a beautiful sight.

  • Predavačka, staršia pani, s úsmevom ponúka svoje kvety.

The seller, an older lady, offers her flowers with a smile.

"They are beautiful," says Jana, but the price surprises her.

  • Je vyššia než očakávala.

    It's higher than she expected.

  • S mierným sklamaním pokračuje ďalej.

With slight disappointment, she continues on.

  • Trh je plný ľudí, každý má niečo, čo potrebuje kúpiť.

The market is full of people, each with something they need to buy.

Jana feels a gentle breeze, reminding her of how she used to go to similar markets with her grandparents.

The memories are sweet, but they evoke sadness in her.

At the next stall, the chrysanthemums are smaller, the colors not as vibrant.

  • Jana chvíľu váha.

    Jana hesitates for a moment.

She can save money, but her heart longs for the most beautiful ones.

  • Cíti, že jej starí rodičia si zaslúžia to najlepšie.

She feels that her grandparents deserve the best.

  • Povzdychne si a rozhodne sa pokračovať.

She sighs and decides to keep going.

  • Cez trh preniká vôňa pečených gaštanov, jej obľúbená jesenná pochúťka.

The smell of roasted chestnuts, her favorite autumn treat, permeates the market.

  • Atmosféra je živá.

    The atmosphere is lively.

  • Deti sa smejú, staršie dámy diskutujú o receptoch.

Children laugh, older ladies discuss recipes.

Jana feels lonely in this crowd, reminiscing about the past.

  • Zrazu zbadá stánok, kde chryzantémy žiaria životom a farbami.

Suddenly, she spots a stall where the chrysanthemums shine with life and colors.

  • Sú presne také, aké pestovala jej babička.

They are exactly like the ones her grandmother used to grow.

  • V tej chvíli cíti hlboké spojenie s minulosťou, akoby starí rodičia boli vedľa nej.

At that moment, she feels a deep connection with the past, as if her grandparents are beside her.

  • Bez váhania pristúpi a kúpi tých pár kvetov, ktorých lesk hovorí celým jej srdcom.

Without hesitation, she steps forward and buys those few flowers whose brightness speaks to her whole heart.

  • Na ďalšom stánku nakúpi sviečky.

At another stall, she buys candles.

  • Tie prívetivé svetlá na hroboch pripomenú teplo domova a lásku rodiny.

Those comforting lights on the graves remind her of the warmth of home and family love.

  • Konečne je všetko pripravené.

    Finally, everything is ready.

  • S ľahším srdcom odchádza z trhu.

With a lighter heart, she leaves the market.

  • Jana sa zastaví pri fontáne.

    Jana stops by the fountain.

  • Vytiahne telefón a vytáča číslo svojej sestry, Zuzany.

She takes out her phone and dials her sister Zuzana's number.

  • "Mohla by si prísť pomôcť so sviečkami a kvetmi?

"Could you come help with the candles and flowers?"

  • " pýta sa.

    she asks.

Both, warm sibling souls, are a piece of childhood that never leaves.

The next day, as she walks to the cemetery with Marek and Zuzana, Jana realizes that family memories live not just in hearts, but also in cookies, in smiles, in forgiveness.

  • Tu a teraz.

    Here and now.
