Karol sa ponáhľal do nemocnice.
Karol was hurrying to the hospital.
Jeho teta bola hospitalizovaná a on ju chcel povzbudiť pekným darčekom.
His aunt had been hospitalized, and he wanted to cheer her up with a nice gift.
Vonku bol už chladný jesenný deň, listy padali zo stromov.
Outside, it was already a chilly autumn day, with leaves falling from the trees.
Karol climbed the stairs, held onto the railing, and pondered what would please his aunt.
V nemocnici bolo rušno, no zároveň pokojne.
In the hospital, it was busy yet calm.
Nurses and doctors walked up and down with worries on their faces, but their steps were orderly.
Karol zamieril do darčekového obchodu.
Karol headed to the gift shop.
Vedel, že potrebuje niečo výnimočné.
He knew he needed something special.
„Dobrý deň,“ pozdravil Karol ženu za pultom.
"Good day," greeted Karol to the woman behind the counter.
It was Elena, a practical woman with a kind smile who worked in the store.
„Hľadám darček pre moju tetu. Je tu v nemocnici,“ vysvetlil.
"I am looking for a gift for my aunt. She's here in the hospital," he explained.
Elena sa naňho pozrela s porozumením.
Elena looked at him with understanding.
„Chápem, je ťažké vybrať niečo správne.
"I understand, it's hard to choose something right.
Aké má vaša teta záujmy?“
What are your aunt's interests?"
Karol si povzdychol.
Karol sighed.
„Má rada čítanie a vždy nosí šály.
"She likes reading and always wears scarves.
Len neviem, čo by ju potešilo teraz.“
I just don't know what would cheer her up now."
Elena sa zamyslela.
Elena thought for a moment.
„Máme tu niekoľko krásnych ručne pletených šálov.
"We have a few beautiful hand-knitted scarves here.
A ak poznáte jej obľúbeného autora, máme aj výber kníh.“
And if you know her favorite author, we also have a selection of books."
Karol sa zamyslel a rozžiarili sa mu oči.
Karol thought and his eyes lit up.
„Áno, má rada knihy od pána Nováka.
"Yes, she likes books by Mr. Novák.
A ten šál... znie to úžasne!“
And the scarf... that sounds wonderful!"
Elena mu podala jemný šál v teplých farbách jesene a ukázala mu rozložené knihy.
Elena handed him a soft scarf in the warm colors of autumn and showed him the displayed books.
Karol okamžite spoznal obal knihy, ktorú jeho teta ešte nečítala.
Karol immediately recognized the cover of a book his aunt hadn't read yet.
Po pár minútach už držal oboje v rukách.
After a few minutes, he was holding both in his hands.
Vedel, že to je presne ono.
He knew this was it.
„Ďakujem vám veľmi pekne, Elena. Pomohli ste mi viac, než viete.“
"Thank you very much, Elena. You've helped me more than you know."
S darčekmi v rukách kráčal Karol chodbami nemocnice až k tetinej izbe.
With the gifts in his hands, Karol walked the hospital corridors to his aunt's room.
Keď jej darčeky podal, jej tvár sa rozžiarila úsmevom.
When he handed her the gifts, her face lit up with a smile.
„Karol, to je skvostné!“
"Karol, this is splendid!"
Karol sa usmial.
Karol smiled.
Vedel, že vybral správne.
He knew he had chosen well.
His decision to take Elena's advice was the best thing he could have done.
As he said goodbye to his aunt, he realized that small gestures and personal touches are important and can bring joy.
And so, with a heart lighter of worries, Karol walked home that autumn evening, content with everything he had learned.
