  • V slnečné jarné ráno sa Marek, Ivana a Karol stretli v doline pod vrcholkami Vysokých Tatier.

On a sunny spring morning, Marek, Ivana, and Karol met in the valley beneath the peaks of the Vysoké Tatry mountains.

Marek was motivated by a desire for adventure and a wish to prove that he could face anything.

It was Easter Monday, and he wanted to show everyone that he could handle even a tough climb.

  • Karol, skúsený miestny sprievodca, a Ivana, jeho starostlivá kamarátka, ho mali sprevádzať.

Karol, an experienced local guide, and Ivana, his caring friend, were there to accompany him.

  • Kde stromy ustupovali lúkam, vzduch bol čistý a čerstvý.

Where the trees gave way to meadows, the air was clean and fresh.

  • Vtáky spievali a slniečko po zimných mesiacoch konečne hrialo.

Birds sang, and the sun finally warmed after the winter months.

  • Ale cesta bola drsná.

    But the path was rough.

  • Svahy boli strmé, miestami ešte pokryté snehom.

The slopes were steep, places still covered with snow.

  • Zozadu počuť jemné hučanie toku vody, keď prešli okolo rozvíjajúceho sa vodopádu.

A gentle hum of water could be heard from behind as they passed a budding waterfall.

  • Marek kráčal odhodlane vpredu.

Marek walked resolutely at the front.

  • Jeho nadšenie však postupne nahradzovala únava.

However, his enthusiasm was gradually replaced by fatigue.

  • Ivana ho pozorovala s obavami.

    Ivana watched him with concern.

  • „Marek, nie si unavený? Mohli by sme si dať krátku pauzu,“ navrhla jemne.

"Marek, aren’t you tired? We could take a short break," she gently suggested.

  • Marek zavrtel hlavou.

    Marek shook his head.

"No, everything is fine," he said decisively, even though each step became more difficult for him.

  • Keď dosiahli polovicu výstupu, Marek začal cítiť nevoľnosť.

When they reached halfway up the ascent, Marek started to feel unwell.

  • Hlava sa mu krútila a dýchalo sa mu obtiažne.

His head spun, and it was getting difficult to breathe.

He knew it wasn’t good, but he didn’t want to admit it.

  • Ivana mu podala fľašu s vodou.

Ivana handed him a bottle of water.

  • „Možno by sme sa mali otočiť späť,“ naliehala.

"Maybe we should turn back," she urged.

  • Ale Marek trval na svojom.

    But Marek insisted.

  • „Musíme ísť ďalej,“ jeho hrdosť mu nedala ustúpiť.

"We must keep going," his pride wouldn’t allow him to back down.

  • Karol ich dobehol.

    Karol caught up with them.

  • „Marek, vypočuj si svoje telo.

    "Marek, listen to your body.

  • V Tatrách nie je hanba ustúpiť.

In the Tatry, it's not a shame to retreat.

Nature is beautiful, but also dangerous," Karol said seriously.

  • Marek to zamietol a pokračoval vpred.

Marek dismissed it and continued forward.

  • Keď sa blížili k vrcholu, náhle Marek zakolísal a padol k zemi.

As they neared the summit, Marek suddenly wobbled and fell to the ground.

  • Ivana upadla do paniky.

    Ivana panicked.

  • „Karol, pomôž mi!“ volala.

    "Karol, help me!" she called.

  • Karol reagoval rýchlo, otvoril batoh a vybral núdzový balíček.

Karol reacted quickly, opened his backpack, and took out an emergency kit.

  • Spolu Mareka zniesli nižšie, k miestu bezpečnejším pre zotavenie.

Together, they carried Marek down to a safer place for recovery.

  • O niekoľko hodín neskôr, nižšie v horách, Marek ležal na posteli v horskej chate. Znovu nadobúdal sily.

Several hours later, lower in the mountains, Marek lay on a bed in a mountain cottage, slowly regaining his strength.

  • Pri praskajúcom ohni povedal Ivane a Karolovi: „Ďakujem.

By the crackling fire, he said to Ivana and Karol, "Thank you.

  • Bolo hlúpe nepočúvať vás.“

It was foolish not to listen to you."

  • Karol mu tlmene poklepal po ramene.

Karol gently patted him on the shoulder.

  • „Nie je to hanba, Marek.

    "It’s no shame, Marek.

What's important is that you've learned even the strong need help."

While outside, a gentle singing of Easter hymns echoed from the mountains, Marek realized that not every climb is about proving something to others but about being in harmony with nature and one's own limits.

  • Bol to deň odpočinku a introspekcie a Marek tu našiel aj nový pocit pokoja a pokory.

It was a day of rest and introspection, and Marek found a new sense of peace and humility here.
