  • Jana stála na balkóne hotela a sledovala tyrkysové vlny narážajúce do skalnatého pobrežia Amalfi.

Jana stood on the hotel balcony, watching the turquoise waves crash against the rocky shore of Amalfi.

  • Vôňa mora a kvitnúcych citrusových stromov sa miešala vo vzduchu.

The scent of the sea and blooming citrus trees mingled in the air.

  • Bolo leto, čas Ferragosta, keď celé Taliansko oslavuje.

It was summer, the time of Ferragosto, when all of Italy celebrates.

Silently, she wished that this trip would be a means of renewing their marriage.

Jana turned to see Miroslav, who was sitting on the bed, once again scrolling through work emails.

  • "Miroslav, pozri na tieto krásne výhľady," povzbudzovala ho.

"Miroslav, look at these beautiful views," she encouraged him.

He smiled, but it was more of a resigned smile.

  • "Áno, drahá, hneď prídem," odpovedal zamyslene, oči však nespúšťal z telefónu.

"Yes, dear, I'll come right away," he replied thoughtfully, but his eyes did not leave the phone.

  • Matej, ich syn, sedel v kúte izby, nohami kýval z postele.

Matej, their son, was sitting in the corner of the room, swinging his feet off the bed.

"Mom, will we go to the beach?" he asked hopefully.

  • Jana prikývla. "Samozrejme, zlato, len čo sa ocko pripraví."

Jana nodded. "Of course, sweetheart, just as soon as dad gets ready."

  • Na pláži bolo rušno.

    The beach was bustling.

Tourists and locals were preparing for the big Ferragosto celebrations.

Jana felt anxiety gradually settling in her mind.

Her marriage seemed like the clouds in the sky, sometimes clear, sometimes shaded.

She decided that this day had to be different.

  • Večer pripravila prekvapenie.

In the evening, she prepared a surprise.

The table on the terrace was full of local specialties: fresh mozzarella salad, bruschetta with tomatoes and basil, and the best Italian dessert, tiramisu.

  • Miroslav konečne odložil telefón.

Miroslav finally put down his phone.

"Magnificent," he said as he joined them at the table.

The air was full of laughter and music, people were dancing in the street.

  • Ale Jana nemohla ignorovať tichú bolesť vo svojom srdci.

But Jana couldn't ignore the quiet pain in her heart.

  • Po chvíli ticha sa k Miroslavovi obrátila.

After a moment of silence, she turned to Miroslav.

  • "Miroslav, potrebujem s tebou hovoriť," začala. Pripravená prelomiť bariéru, ktorá medzi nimi vyrástla.

"Miroslav, I need to talk to you," she began, ready to break the barrier that had grown between them.

  • "Máme problémy a musíme s nimi niečo robiť," vyjadrila úprimne.

"We have problems, and we need to do something about them," she expressed sincerely.

  • Miroslav sa k nej otočil, oči mal konečne prítomné.

Miroslav turned to her, his eyes finally present.

  • "Jana, to posledné, čo som chcel, bolo stratiť ťa," priznal so zdesením.

"Jana, the last thing I wanted was to lose you," he admitted with dismay.

"Work consumed me, but you and Matej are more important to me."

  • Matej bol svedkom výmeny pohľadov medzi rodičmi.

Matej witnessed the exchange of looks between his parents.

  • Videla začiatok zmien, ktoré mohli prísť.

He saw the beginning of changes that could come.

  • Pocítil nádej vo vzduchu.

He felt hope in the air.

  • Oslavy pokračovali a Miroslav bol iný.

The celebrations continued, and Miroslav was different.

The phone stayed in the room, and his attention turned to the family.

For the first time in a long while, they talked and laughed like they used to.

  • Noc skončila ohňostrojom osvetľujúcim oblohu nad Amalfi.

The night ended with fireworks illuminating the sky over Amalfi.

For Jana, it was a glimmer of hope for what could still be restored.

  • Matej tancoval a Jana mu položila ruku na hrudník.

Matej danced, and Jana placed her hand on his chest.

  • "Budeme v poriadku," šeptala.

"We will be okay," she whispered.

  • Miroslav, hoci ešte nevedomý všetkých budúcich výziev, prisľúbil viac snažiť sa.

Miroslav, although still unaware of all the future challenges, promised to try harder.

  • Rodina bola jeho prioritou.

    The family was his priority.

And so, while some things changed slowly, Jana knew she had taken the first step.

On the Amalfi coast, amidst Ferragosto, their family began to find a common rhythm once again.
