Behind the ancient walls of Bratislava Castle, there was a boy named Janko, who had an extraordinary passion for adventures.

Jedného dňa, keď svietilo slnko a obloha bola čistá ako krištáľová studňa, Janko si povedal, že dnes bude ten správny deň na prehliadku hradu, ktorý kráľoval nad mestom ako starý múdry panovník.

One day, when the sun was shining and the sky was clear as a crystal well, Janko decided that today would be the right day for a tour of the castle, which reigned over the city like an old, wise ruler.

Ako sa tak prechádzal po mohutných miestnostiach plných historie, náhle začul hlasné hlasy a vône, ktoré unikali spoza dverí, o ktorých si myslel, že vedú na nádvorie.

As he wandered through the massive rooms full of history, he suddenly heard loud voices and aromas escaping from behind the doors, which he thought led to the courtyard.

Bez váhania ich otvoril a k svojmu prekvapeniu zistil, že nie je na nádvorí, ale v obrovskej kuchyni, kde sa chystala hostina pre významných hostí.

Without hesitation, he opened them and to his surprise found himself not in the courtyard, but in a huge kitchen, where a feast was being prepared for important guests.

“Janko chcel protestovať, ale slová sa mu zastavili na jazyku, keď zbadal, ako sú všetci v kuchyni zaneprázdnení.

Janko wanted to protest, but the words stuck in his throat when he saw how busy everyone in the kitchen was.

Vzal to teda ako ďalšie dobrodružstvo a rozhodol sa pomôcť.

So, he took it as another adventure and decided to help.

Nemal skúsenosti s varením pre takú dôležitú udalosť, ale vedel, že bude musieť byť kreatívny.

He had no experience in cooking for such an important event, but he knew he would have to be creative.

Práce bolo veľa: sekal zeleninu, miešal polievky a naučil sa pripravovať niekoľko tradičných slovenských jedál pod dohľadom kuchára, ktorý si myslel, že je Janko výučený kuchár, ktorý sa zabudol predstaviť.

There was a lot of work: chopping vegetables, stirring soups, and learning to prepare several traditional Slovak dishes under the watchful eye of the chef, who thought Janko was a trained chef who had forgotten to introduce himself.

Koniec koncov sa hostina skončila veľkým úspechom.

In the end, the feast was a great success.

Jedinou chybičkou, ktorú nikto nezbadal, boli Jankove "špeciálne" buchty, plné osobitného pokusu o tradičný recept, s trochou viac cukru, než bolo treba.

The only tiny flaw that went unnoticed was Janko's "special" pastries, filled with a unique attempt at a traditional recipe, with a bit more sugar than necessary.

Hostia si však pochutili a pokládali ich za exotickú delikatesu.

However, the guests enjoyed them and considered them an exotic delicacy.

Keď sa večer skončil, Janko dostal pochvalu aj od samotného majstra kuchyne, ktorý mu na pamiatku daroval svoju rezervnú kuchársku čiapku.

When the evening ended, Janko received praise even from the master chef himself, who gave him his spare chef's hat as a memento.

Janko opustil hradnú kuchyňu s čiapkou pevne nasadenou na hlave a s pocitom, že aj keď vstúpil cez nesprávne dvere, dnes našiel v kuchyni niečo viac ako len dobrodružstvo - našiel v sebe kuchára, čo nemal strach čeliť výzvam, a to aj v nepoznaných predných líniiach kráľovských hostín.

Janko left the castle kitchen with the hat firmly on his head and a feeling that even though he entered through the wrong door, today he found in the kitchen something more than just an adventure - he found a chef within himself who was not afraid to face challenges, even in the unknown frontlines of royal banquets.

A tak sa Janko, s novou chuťou do života a s chuťou do varenia, vydal po bratislavských uličkách domov, pripravený na nové dobrodružstvá, ktoré ho čakajú za každým rohom tohto starobylého mesta.

And so Janko, with a new zest for life and a passion for cooking, set off through the streets of Bratislava, ready for new adventures that await him around every corner of this ancient city.
