Entering the hall, Yuriy stopped.

Перед ним были расстелены яркие коврики, а не привычные кухонные столы.

Laid out before him were bright mats, not the usual kitchen tables.

Юрий пожал плечами и решил, что новое в приготовлении борща — это йога.

Yuriy shrugged and decided that the new aspect in making borsch was yoga.

"Начнем с разминки" — услышал он от женщины с добрым лицом, назвавшей себя Ольгой.

"Let's start with a warm-up," he heard from a woman with a kind face, who introduced herself as Olga.

"Это странно", — подумал он, но подтянулся на коврике.

"This is strange," he thought, but he stretched out on the mat.

В этот момент к нему подошел Николай, местный инструктор, и указал, что нужно расслабить плечи.

At that moment, Nikolai, the local instructor, approached him and pointed out that he needed to relax his shoulders.

"Так проще нарезать овощи", — решил Юрий.

"It makes it easier to chop vegetables," concluded Yuriy.

Они начали с позы ребёнка.

They started with the child's pose.

Юрий стараясь, пытался повторить.

Yuriy, trying hard, attempted to follow along.

"Это точно что-то новое", — размышлял он.

"This is definitely something new," he pondered.

Когда все начали делать "собаку мордой вниз", Юрий запутался в руках и ногах, но вдруг замер в улыбке — он понял, что нужно принять свои ошибки и учиться терпению.

When everyone started doing the "downward-facing dog," Yuriy got tangled in his hands and feet, but suddenly froze with a smile — he realized that he needed to accept his mistakes and learn patience.

Это и было его духовное откровение.

That was his spiritual revelation.

Другие ученики, заметив его внутреннее просветление, приняли его за поднявшегося над земным мудреца.

The other students, noticing his inner enlightenment, took him for a sage risen above earthly concerns.

Класс закончился, наставница Ольга поздравила его с первой йога-практикой и Юрий расслабленный покинул занятие.

The class ended, and instructor Olga congratulated him on his first yoga practice, and a relaxed Yuriy left the session.

По дороге домой он подумал, что жизнь не всегда идет по плану, и это нормально.

On the way home, he thought that life doesn't always go according to plan, and that's okay.

Может, он действительно не научился готовить борщ, но приобрел намного больше — внутреннее спокойствие.

Perhaps he didn't learn how to make borsch, but he gained much more — inner peace.

И вернувшись туда, где его ждала теща, он понял, что может впечатлить её не столько борщом, сколько рассказом о своём опыте йоги.

And returning to where his mother-in-law awaited, he realized he might impress her not so much with borsch but with his story about his yoga experience.

На Пасху, сидя за столом, Юрий улыбнулся.

On Easter, sitting at the table, Yuriy smiled.

Ему не нужно было прибегать ко всему привычному, чтобы проявить себя.

He didn't need to rely on everything familiar to express himself.

Главное — это открытость к новым и неожиданным испытаниям.
