În piața din sat mirosea a toamnă.
In the village market, it smelled like autumn.
Leaves were falling over the wet ground, and a gentle wind was bringing light rain.
Era zi de piață.
It was market day.
People gathered from the morning, with baskets full of fruits and vegetables.
The piețar was shouting, announcing the fresh products, and the atmosphere was noisy and warm.
Andrei își aranjase taraba cu grijă.
Andrei had carefully arranged his stand.
The clay pots he had created sparkled under the umbrella that protected him from the rain.
He had molded them with his skillful hands, and the dream of opening a workshop in the city kept him alive.
Deși sătenii îi apreciau talentul, Andrei simțea că munca sa merita mai mult.
Although the villagers appreciated his talent, Andrei felt that his work deserved more.
Din păcate, azi piața nu era aglomerată.
Unfortunately, today the market was not crowded.
Ploaia a alungat mulți cumpărători.
The rain had driven away many buyers.
Andrei a devenit neliniștit.
Andrei became anxious.
How could he gather the money he needed if no one was buying his pots?
Time was passing, and nothing seemed to change.
With a deep sigh, he made a decision: to make an offer, to lower the prices.
Even if the profit would be smaller, perhaps this way he would attract some interested buyers.
"Vase la jumătate de preț!
"Pots at half price!"
he shouted, and a few villagers approached, curious.
Printre acești săteni era Maria.
Among these villagers was Maria.
She had come to the market to buy fruits, but she was passionate about art.
A few times, she had stopped at Andrei's stand.
She admired his work, but today, seeing the sale announcement, she approached more attentively.
Andrei a văzut-o venind și inima i s-a încălzit.
Andrei saw her coming and his heart warmed.
"Bună, Maria!
"Hello, Maria!"
" a spus el cu un zâmbet timid.
he said with a shy smile.
Maria leaned in to study some of the pots.
"Sunt minunate," a spus ea cu sinceritate.
"They are wonderful," she said sincerely.
"Chiar aș vrea să cumpăr câteva.
"I would really like to buy a few."
Maria bought several pieces and promised to tell others about Andrei's talent.
A plecat zâmbind, iar Andrei a simțit o speranță nouă.
She left smiling, and Andrei felt a new hope.
Even though he hadn't sold everything, Maria's support made him believe in his dream again.
Ziua s-a încheiat.
The day ended.
Ploaia s-a oprit, iar Andrei a plecat spre casă.
The rain stopped, and Andrei headed home.
The unsold pots were still in his cart, but it no longer mattered.
Ce conta era că cineva văzuse valoarea muncii sale.
What mattered was that someone had seen the value of his work.
And with patience and perseverance, he knew he would succeed one day.
The hope in his heart was stronger now, and for that, he was grateful.
