Într-o zi răcoroasă de toamnă, când frunzele arămii dansau ușor pe aleile Grădinilor Cișmigiu, Ionel mergea absent pe una dintre alei.

On a cool autumn day, when the copper leaves were dancing gently on the paths of Grădinilor Cișmigiu, Ionel was absent-mindedly walking down one of the avenues.

Abia își cumpărase o cafea de la chioșcul din colț, iar privirea îi era pierdută printre ramuri și umbre.

He had just bought a coffee from the kiosk at the corner, and his gaze was lost among the branches and shadows.

Naveta sa zilnică de la universitate la parc era o evadare perfectă din agitația metropolei.

His daily commute from university to the park was a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the metropolis.

Deodată, din neatenție, a călcat pe o piatră, iar cafeaua sa s-a răsturnat direct pe o bancă ocupată.

Suddenly, through inattention, he stepped on a stone, and his coffee spilled directly onto an occupied bench.

Coșmar! "Oh, îmi pare rău," a murmurat imediat, observând cu ochii mari petele de lichid care ajunseseră pe haina Ancăi, o femeie cu părul prins sub o căciulă colorată, ocupată cu camera foto.

Nightmare! "Oh, I'm sorry," he immediately murmured, noticing with wide eyes the liquid stains that had reached the coat of Anca, a woman with her hair tucked under a colorful cap, busy with her camera.

Anca, inițial surprinsă, s-a uitat la pantalonii ei pătați și a zâmbit.

Anca, initially surprised, looked at her stained pants and smiled.

"Nu-i nimic, stai liniștit. Se mai întâmplă," a spus ea, curioasă să afle cine e acel tânăr stângaci dar cu ochi blânzi.

"It's okay, don't worry. It happens," she said, curious to find out who this awkward young man with gentle eyes was.

Ionel, tot mai stânjenit, a încercat să zică ceva inteligibil: "Poate... poate te pot invita la o altă cafea?"

Ionel, increasingly embarrassed, tried to say something intelligible: "Maybe... maybe I can invite you for another coffee?"

Era cel mai potrivit lucru pe care îl putea spune în acel moment, gândindu-se că astfel poate își va face o nouă prietenă.

It was the most appropriate thing he could say at that moment, thinking that this way he might make a new friend.

Acceptând invitația dintr-un impuls de curiozitate, Anca și-a pus camera la gât și a exclamat: "De ce nu? Dar numai dacă mă însoțești într-o plimbare scurtă. Caut să fac niște poze pentru noul meu proiect."

Accepting the invitation out of a curious impulse, Anca put her camera around her neck and exclaimed: "Why not? But only if you accompany me on a short walk. I'm looking to take some photos for my new project."

Cei doi au pornit pe alei, discuția inițiată de Anca gravitând în jurul plantelor pe care Ionel cu ușurință le identifica și despre care povestea cu pasiune.

The two set off down the paths, with the conversation initiated by Anca revolving around the plants that Ionel easily identified and about which he spoke passionately.

"Aici avem un stejar bătrân", spunea el. "Și la stânga, un tufe de trandafiri sălbatici."

"Here we have an old oak," he said. "And to the left, a bush of wild roses."

Pe măsură ce avansau, la un colț mai retras al grădinii, s-au oprit fascinați în fața unui peisaj splendid: razele soarelui filtrate prin crengile pomilor, un covor de frunze aurii și o fântână veche care încadra scena.

As they advanced, at a more secluded corner of the garden, they stopped, fascinated by a splendid landscape: sunrays filtered through the tree branches, a carpet of golden leaves, and an old fountain framing the scene.

Anca nu-și putea stăpâni entuziasmul și a început să fotografieze.

Anca couldn't contain her excitement and began photographing.

"Perfect pentru proiectul meu," a spus ea, încântată. "Dar mi-ai dat și o idee nouă. Poate tocmai am descoperit o poveste și din perspectivă umană."

"Perfect for my project," she said, delighted. "But you've also given me a new idea. Maybe I just discovered a story from a human perspective."

Timpul părea să zboare, și în curând Ionel și Anca s-au regăsit din nou pe o bancă, cu cafeaua lor aburindă în mâini, revizuind fotografiile.

Time seemed to fly, and soon Ionel and Anca found themselves back on a bench, with their steaming coffee in hand, reviewing the photographs.

Spre surprinderea lor, și-au dat seama că împărțeau mai multe puncte comune decât și-ar fi imaginat.

To their surprise, they realized they shared more common points than they had imagined.

În acel moment, o frumoasă prietenie începea să prindă rădăcini.

At that moment, a beautiful friendship began to take root.

"Ionel, ce zici să mai repetăm plimbarea aceasta curând?" a întrebat Anca, privindu-l cu un zâmbet.

"Ionel, what do you say we repeat this walk soon?" Anca asked, looking at him with a smile.

"Sigur, mi-ar plăcea mult," a răspuns Ionel, simțind cum un fior cald îi cuprinde sufletul.

"Sure, I'd love that," Ionel replied, feeling a warm thrill envelop his soul.

Începuse să-și dea seama că viața nu se reduce doar la studii și plante, ci și la contactul cu oameni buni.

Grădina Cișmigiu părea acum nu doar un loc de liniște și studiu, ci și unul al noilor începuturi.

Iar sub cerul toamnei, printre foșnetul frunzelor, două destine se împleteau într-o poveste comună.
