Într-o după-amiază, pe când explorează podul orfelinatului, zări un colț de hârtie ieșind dintr-o crăpătură a podelei scârțâitoare.

One afternoon, while exploring the attic of the orphanage, he spotted a corner of paper sticking out from a crack in the creaky floor.

"Ce ar putea fi asta?" se întrebă Ionel, întinzându-se și scoțând-o cu atenție.

"What could this be?" Ionel wondered, reaching out and carefully pulling it out.

Era o scrisoare veche, pătată de timp și abia lizibilă.

It was an old letter, stained with time and barely legible.

Cu inima bătându-i cu putere, începu să citească despre un tezaur îngropat.

With his heart pounding, he began to read about a buried treasure.

"Sub orfelinat... ascuns... comoară..." murmură băiatul, încercând să deslușească cuvintele șterse.

"Under the orphanage... hidden... treasure..." the boy murmured, trying to decipher the faded words.

Se întoarse speriat și îl văzu pe Mihai, îngrijitorul orfelinatului, cu o lanternă în mână.

He turned around frightened and saw Mihai, the caretaker of the orphanage, with a flashlight in hand.

"Ce faci aici?"

"What are you doing here?"

Ionel înghiți în sec și povestii totul: scrisoarea, comoara, dorința lui de a găsi ceva special.

Ionel swallowed hard and told him everything: the letter, the treasure, his desire to find something special.

Spre surpriza lui, Mihai zâmbi și spuse: "Știu de scrisoare. Vino, să vedem împreună."

To his surprise, Mihai smiled and said, "I know about the letter. Come, let's see together."

Curând, împreună, deschiseră trapa și, sub ea, găsiră o cutie veche acoperită de praf.

Soon, they opened the trapdoor together, and beneath it, they found an old, dust-covered box.

Dar înăuntru nu erau bijuterii sau monede de aur.

But inside there were no jewels or gold coins.

În schimb, erau fotografii vechi și obiecte din trecutul orfelinatului.

Instead, there were old photographs and objects from the orphanage's past.

"Acestea sunt poveștile noastre," zise Mihai cu mândrie.

"These are our stories," Mihai said proudly.

"Este comoara celor care au fost aici înaintea ta."

"It's the treasure of those who were here before you."

Ionel privi uimitor la mementourile vechi și înțelese că găsise un alt fel de comoară.

Ionel looked in awe at the old mementos and realized he had found a different kind of treasure.

Sentimentul de apartenență și conexiune cu locul său de acasă era acum mai puternic decât dorința de aur sau argint.

Astfel, Ionel învăță că uneori cele mai mari comori sunt cele care ne leagă mai strâns de poveștile și locurile care ne formează.
