No meio de tudo isso, Tiago sentava-se numa mesa da Tasca, a olhar para o ecrã do seu portátil.

Ele tinha uma tarefa importante.

He had an important task.

Precisava terminar uma tradução para um cliente exigente.

He needed to finish a translation for a demanding client.

"Tiago, queres um copo de vinho?"

"Tiago, do you want a glass of wine?"

perguntava Rui, o sempre energético barman.

asked Rui, the always energetic bartender.

Rui era conhecido por ser alto e gesticular bastante, como se as suas mãos precisassem acompanhar a energia da sua voz.

Rui was known for being tall and gesticulating a lot, as if his hands needed to match the energy of his voice.

Tiago gostava dele, mas precisava de concentração.

Tiago liked him, but he needed concentration.

"Talvez mais tarde, Rui", respondeu Tiago com um sorriso forçado.

"Maybe later, Rui," replied Tiago with a forced smile.

O ambiente estava caótico.

The environment was chaotic.

Os risos eram altos, os copos tilintavam e a música no rádio mudava entre Fado e os grandes sucessos do verão.

The laughter was loud, glasses clinked, and the music on the radio alternated between Fado and the summer’s greatest hits.

Tiago olhou em volta, meio desesperado.

Tiago looked around, somewhat desperate.

Aquele não era o local ideal para alguém que precisava de tranquilidade.

It was not the ideal place for someone who needed tranquility.

Mas ele adorava a Tasca.

But he loved the Tasca.

A atmosfera vibrante, os aromas de sardinhas assadas, e claro, as conversas animadas.

The vibrant atmosphere, the aromas of grilled sardines, and of course, the lively conversations.

Enquanto tentava focar de novo na tradução, surgiu Helena, uma amiga e também freelancer.

As he tried to refocus on the translation, Helena appeared, a friend and also a freelancer.

Ela gostava da mesma tasca, mas para a observar e encontrar inspiração entre histórias de vida.

She liked the same Tasca, but to observe and find inspiration among life stories.

"Tiago, parece que precisas de uma pausa", Helena sentava-se ao lado dele.

"Tiago, it looks like you need a break," Helena said, sitting beside him.

"Não trabalhes demasiado, o Algarve espera por ti."

"Don't work too hard, the Algarve awaits you."

"Queria, mas tenho de terminar isto", respondeu Tiago com um suspiro.

"I wish I could, but I have to finish this," replied Tiago with a sigh.

"A Wi-Fi está a falhar, e sem isso não consigo enviar o trabalho..." Enquanto ele falava, as luzes começaram a piscar e, em um segundo, toda a tasca mergulhou na escuridão.

"The Wi-Fi is failing, and without it I can't send the work..." As he spoke, the lights began to flicker, and in a second, the entire Tasca was plunged into darkness.

Ouviram-se exclamações, seguidas de risos.

Parecia que os frequentadores do Bairro Alto encaravam a situação com bom humor.

Sem luz elétrica, Rui surgiu com velas e distribuiu por todas as mesas, criando um ambiente íntimo e acolhedor.

Helena riu-se, "Bem, talvez esta seja a tua oportunidade de relaxar."

Na penumbra, rodeado de pessoas e com a ajuda da luz suave dos telemóveis de Helena e Rui, Tiago começou a sentir uma calma inesperada.

In the dim light, surrounded by people and with the help of the soft glow from Helena's and Rui's phones, Tiago began to feel an unexpected calm.

O som das vozes tornou-se parte de uma sinfonia envolvente, e as suas mãos ganharam vida no teclado.

The sound of voices became part of an enveloping symphony, and his hands came to life on the keyboard.

Trabalhando com afinco, Tiago conseguiu terminar a tradução.

Ele levantou-se, aliviado, enquanto uma sensação de realização o envolvia.

exclamou Rui, enquanto levantava um copo para brindar.

Tiago sorriu.

Naquele espaço que achava caótico, encontrou a inspiração e apoio que não esperava.
