The children agreed with a nod and followed their father.

Camila looked at him, gave a small smile, and replied, "Yes, it's amazing here."

"Eu sei que tem sido difícil para vocês... para todos nós." começou Thiago, com um tom sério, mas doce.

"Eu sinto muito por tudo isso. Eu queria tanto poder voltar atrás."

"I’m so sorry for all of this. I wish I could go back."

Camila olhou nos olhos do pai, e, pela primeira vez, pareceu ouvir as suas palavras.

Camila looked into her father's eyes, and for the first time, seemed to hear his words.

Mateus, com apenas 8 anos, olhava sem entender completamente, mas sentia que era um momento importante.

Mateus, just 8 years old, watched without fully understanding but sensed it was an important moment.

"Pai, a gente sente sua falta", disse Camila, a voz um pouco embargada.

"Dad, we miss you," said Camila, her voice a little choked up.

"Mas é estranho. Você não está mais em casa."

"But it's strange. You're not at home anymore."

Thiago fechou os olhos por um segundo, respirando fundo.

Mateus, pegou uma pequena pedra do chão e começou a desenhar na terra.
