  • No coração da primavera, as árvores do colĂ©gio interno brasileiro estavam carregadas de flores coloridas.

In the heart of spring, the trees at the Brazilian colégio interno were laden with colorful flowers.

  • A brisa suave acariciava as plantas no jardim, enquanto o sol brilhava alto no cĂ©u azul.

A gentle breeze caressed the plants in the garden, while the sun shone high in the blue sky.

It was Republic Day, and the students enjoyed the holiday with games and laughter.

  • Contudo, num canto do velho prĂ©dio principal, reinava a tensĂŁo.

However, tension reigned in a corner of the old main building.

Inside the family meeting room, which had walls covered with old paintings and few open windows, Tiago, Clara, and Felipe were seated around an old wooden table.

Tiago, the eldest, held a yellowed envelope, the last letter from their father.

He felt the burden of responsibility weigh on his shoulders like an anchor.

"We need to understand what Dad really wanted," Tiago said, looking seriously at his siblings.

Clara, who was the middle child, placed her hand on Tiago's arm.

"Maybe we should listen to everyone before deciding," she spoke, her soft voice trying to calm the atmosphere.

  • Felipe, o caçula, cruzou os braços.

Felipe, the youngest, crossed his arms.

  • “Sempre deixo as decisões para vocĂŞs dois. Desta vez quero ser ouvido.” O ressentimento enchia suas palavras.

“I always leave the decisions to you two. This time I want to be heard.” Resentment filled his words.

  • A carta do pai falava sobre o desejo dele de que a famĂlia continuasse unida e cuidasse da pequena casa no interior, onde todos passaram as fĂ©rias de infância.

Their father's letter spoke of his desire for the family to remain united and to take care of the small house in the countryside, where they all spent their childhood vacations.

However, each interpreted the passage in the way they believed their father would have wanted.

  • "Eu acho que ele queria que a gente morasse lá. Junto," sugeriu Tiago.

"I think he wanted us to live there. Together," suggested Tiago.

  • Clara discordou. "NĂŁo precisamos morar lá. Podemos visitar e manter a casa."

Clara disagreed. "We don’t need to live there. We can visit and maintain the house."

  • Felipe balançou a cabeça.

Felipe shook his head. "He talked about unity. But I don’t know if always staying in the same place is the only way."

  • A discussĂŁo acirrava durante o dia.

The discussion intensified throughout the day.

Their voices echoed through the room, mingling with the singing of students outside, celebrating the history of Brazil.

  • Finalmente, diante do calor do debate, Tiago ergueu as mĂŁos em sinal de rendição.

Finally, amid the heat of the debate, Tiago raised his hands in a gesture of surrender.

"You’re right, Clara, maybe we’re seeing things differently, but how about we unite our ideas?"

  • Felipe sorriu pela primeira vez naquele dia. "Podemos revezar, passar uns tempos juntos e outros separados.

Felipe smiled for the first time that day. "We can take turns, spend some time together and some time apart. That way, we bring all these feelings into the present, not just into memories."

Clara nodded enthusiastically. "Yes, and it can be our meeting point, where we will always be family, regardless of our differences."

At the end of that day, the siblings left the meeting room.

  • Caminharam juntos pelo jardim em flor.

They walked together through the blossoming garden.

They agreed to honor what each of them took from the letter, ensuring that their father's memories and the love among them remained ever alive.

Tiago, feeling a new lightness, realized that sharing responsibility could be one of the best forms of leadership.

After all, a home was not just made of bricks, but also of hearts united.
