Sigrid sat at a small table in the corner of the cozy café in downtown Oslo.
Solen skinnet inn gjennom de store vinduene.
The sun shone in through the large windows.
Duften av nytraktet kaffe fylte luften.
The scent of freshly brewed coffee filled the air.
Around her, Oslo locals and tourists chatted, while cups clinked against saucers.
Hun hadde en viktig oppgave foran seg.
She had an important task ahead of her.
Et freelance grafisk designprosjekt måtte fullføres i dag.
A freelance graphic design project had to be completed today.
Klokken tikket, og Sigrid kjente presset.
The clock was ticking, and Sigrid felt the pressure.
She typed quickly on her laptop, but then something completely unexpected happened.
Skjermen ble mørk.
The screen went dark.
The battery was almost dead, and the charger wasn't working.
Sigrid så seg rundt.
Sigrid looked around.
Alle stikkontakter var i bruk.
All the power outlets were in use.
She could feel a knot of panic in her stomach.
Hva skulle hun gjøre nå?
What was she going to do now?
Hun vurderte sine alternativer.
She considered her options.
Should she ask the busy staff for help, or borrow a charger from someone?
Modig bestemte Sigrid seg for å ta sjansen.
Bravely, Sigrid decided to take the chance.
She approached a young man at the neighboring table.
"Hei," sa hun litt nervøst.
"Hi," she said a little nervously.
"Unnskyld, men laptopladeren min virker ikke.
"Excuse me, but my laptop charger isn't working.
Har du en lader jeg kan låne?
Do you have a charger I could borrow?"
"Mannen, Anders, smilte vennlig.
The man, Anders, smiled kindly.
"Selvfølgelig," sa han og rakte henne laderen.
"Of course," he said, handing her the charger.
"Jeg har også litt erfaring med grafisk design.
"I also have some experience with graphic design.
Trenger du kanskje hjelp med prosjektet ditt?
Do you maybe need help with your project?"
"Sigrid nølte, men bestemte seg så.
Sigrid hesitated but then decided.
"Gjerne, takk!
"Gladly, thank you!"
" svarte hun.
she replied.
De to satt sammen og jobbet.
The two sat together and worked.
Anders ga nyttige råd og tips.
Anders gave useful advice and tips.
With his help, the design was better than Sigrid had hoped.
Tiden fløy, og snart var hun ferdig.
Time flew by, and soon she was done.
With a huge sigh of relief, she sent the project to the client.
Sigrid smilte bredt til Anders.
Sigrid smiled broadly at Anders.
She had not only completed the work but also made a new friend.
They continued talking and discovered that they had much in common.
Begge likte kunst og kafébesøk i Oslo.
Both liked art and café visits in Oslo.
Før hun gikk, avtalte de å møtes igjen i samme kafe.
Before she left, they agreed to meet again at the same café.
Sigrid lærte noe viktig den dagen.
Sigrid learned something important that day.
It was okay to ask for help, and it could lead to good things — like new friendships.
The sun was still high in the sky when she left the café, and now it felt warmer than before.
