Dainis stāvēja pie ieejas.

Viņš bija apņēmies atrast labākos latviešu ēdienus Līgo svinībām.

Pirmais Maijas apstāšanās punkts bija pie siera stenda.
Maija's first stop was at the cheese stall.
"Jāņusieri vienmēr vajag," viņa teica.
"Jāņusieri is always needed," she said.
"Tas ir obligāts pie Līgo galda.
"It's a must on the Līgo table."
"Paņēmuši siera gabalu, viņi devās tālāk.
Having taken a piece of cheese, they moved on.
Bija daudz, daudz ēdienu, un Dainim galva sāka griezties.
There was so much food, and Dainis' head began to spin.
Viņš saprata, ka vieni paši nevajadzētu pieņemt lēmumus.
He realized that decisions shouldn't be made alone.
"Vai esi mēģinājis štovētus kāpostus?
"Have you tried stewed cabbage?"
" jautāja Maija, raugoties uz zelta krāsā mirgojošo kāpostu podu.

Ļaudis Līgo svinībās gaidīja kaut ko īpašu.
