He approached the counter by the police officer and said, "Someone stole my bicycle!"

Zane, policijas darbiniece, pacēla uzaci. "Nozaga? Kā tas notika?"

Zane, the police officer, raised an eyebrow. "Stole? How did that happen?"

Māris dziļi ievilka elpu. "Velosipēds bija garāžā. Garāža nebija aizslēgta. Un... piedodiet, bet kāds suns ar to aizbrauca."

Māris took a deep breath. "The bicycle was in the garage. The garage wasn't locked. And... sorry, but a dog rode off with it."

Zane ievilka smīnu, un blakus esošie policisti izdzirdot sāk smiet. "Suns aizbrauca? Vai jūs esat pārliecināts?"

Zane smirked, and the nearby officers began to laugh upon hearing this. "A dog rode off? Are you sure?"

Māris pamāja. "Es to redzēju ziņās. Kaut kāds klips ar suni braucošu pa Rīgu."

Māris nodded. "I saw it on the news. Some clip with a dog riding through Rīga."

Ilze, cita policijas darbiniece, pievienojās sarunai. "Tas izklausās pēc kādas jākafijas veida. Vai jūs nevarējāt to apturēt?"

Ilze, another police officer, joined the conversation. "That sounds like some kind of a prank. Couldn't you stop it?"

"Mēģināju, bet suns bija pārāk ātrs," Māris atbildēja, nedaudz vīlies.

"I tried, but the dog was too fast," Māris replied, slightly disappointed.

Policistiem šķita, ka situācija ir neticama, un Mārim nācās atgriezties mājās bez cerības uz palīdzību.

The officers found the situation incredible, and Māris had to return home without hope for help.

Tomēr viņš nevēlējās padoties. Viņš nolēma pats meklēt suni.

However, he wasn't ready to give up. He decided to search for the dog himself.

Pilsēta bija dzīva ar pavasara krāsām. Koki ziedēja, un gaiss bija silts.

The city was alive with spring colors. Trees were blooming, and the air was warm.

Māris devās uz vietējo parku. Tur viņš cerēja atrast savu velosipēdu un suni.

Māris pievērsās tuvākajam hot-dogu tirgotājam un nopirka vienu.

Māris turned to the nearest hot dog vendor and bought one.

Viņš zināja, ka karstmaize varētu piesaistīt suņa uzmanību.

He knew that the hot dog might attract the dog's attention.

"Sveiks, draugs!" Viņš uzrunāja suni, uzrādot karstmaizi.

"Hey, friend!" he addressed the dog, showing the hot dog.

Kā par brīnumu, suns apstājās, atvadījās no velosipēda un piegāja tuvāk, gaidot gardumu.

Miraculously, the dog stopped, bade farewell to the bicycle, and approached, eagerly waiting for the treat.

Māris nomierinājās un pasmaidīja.

Māris calmed down and smiled.

Viņš atkal dabūja savu velosipēdu, bet, pats galvenais, ieguva jaunu draugu.

He regained his bicycle, but most importantly, gained a new friend.

Turpmāk Māris un suns bieži tika redzēti kopā pa Rīgas ielām.

From then on, Māris and the dog were often seen together on the streets of Rīga.

Māris uzņēma mājas jaunu biedru, saprazdams, ka dzīve ir pilna smieklu un negaidītu piedzīvojumu.

Māris took in a new housemate, realizing that life was full of laughter and unexpected adventures.

Reizēm viņš teica uzjautrinājies: "Bez šī suņa es nekad nebūtu sapratis, ka velosipēdam var būt divas dzīves."
