The winter morning at the Rīgas Centrāltirgus was particularly crisp and full of excitement.

Garo paviljonu jumti mirdzēja zem pēdējā sniega kārta, bet tirgus dzīvoja savu rosīgo dzīvi.

The long pavilion roofs glistened under the last layer of snow, but the market lived its bustling life.

Aldis pastūma smago durvju vērtnes un uzreiz sajuta siltu gaisu, kas nāca no iekšpuses.

Aldis pushed the heavy door panels open and immediately felt warm air coming from inside.

"Karlis is so picky," he said.

Laima, practical as always, suggested checking out the antique stalls.

"Karlis mīl vecmodīgas lietas, varbūt tur mēs atradīsim kaut ko īpašu," viņa teica.

"Karlis loves vintage things, maybe we'll find something special there," she said.

Aldis piekrita un sekoja.

Aldis agreed and followed.

Viņi gāja garām gaļas vitrīnām, kur bija neticami svaigi produkti, un siera stendiem, kur smaržoja dažādi Eiropas sieri.

They walked past the meat displays, where incredibly fresh products were, and cheese stalls, where various European cheeses gave off enticing aromas.

Pēc kāda laika viņi nokļuva pie antikvariāta stenda.

After some time, they reached the antique stall.

Tur, starp putnu būrīšiem un vecmodīgiem rotājumiem, Aldis pamanīja kaut ko spīdīgu.

There, among bird cages and vintage decorations, Aldis noticed something shiny.

Tā bija veca kabatas pulkstenīte, iestrādāta zelta rāmis un niecīga ķēdīte.

It was an old pocket watch, set in a golden frame with a delicate chain.

His eyes lit up.

Aldis uz brīdi prātoja un tad priecīgi piekrita.

Aldis pondered for a moment and then joyfully agreed.

They both split the payment and, satisfied, walked away.

The birthday party was a real bash.

Guests chattered, and gifts piled up in the corner.

Kad nāca laiks dāvanām, Aldis un Laima ar lepnumu pasniedza Karlim dāvanu.

When it was time for presents, Aldis and Laima proudly handed Karlis the gift.

He unwrapped it and examined the pocket watch.
