Saules pēcpusdienā Jūrmalas pludmale bija pilna jautrības un prieka.
On a sunny afternoon, the beach of Jūrmala was full of fun and joy.
Jūnija vakaros, kad Jāņi bija klāt, cilvēki svinēja dzīves skaistumu.
In the evenings of June, when the Jāņi festival was approaching, people celebrated the beauty of life.
Starp daudzajiem cilvēkiem, Māris, Ineta un Ritvars bija tuvāk pludmales vidum, tuvu lielajam ugunskuram.
Among the many people, Māris, Ineta, and Ritvars were nearer to the center of the beach, close to the large bonfire.
Smiltis bija silti mēnesim spīdot, un jūra maigi plūda krastā.
The sand was warm as the moon shone, and the sea gently washed ashore.
Māris, a valedictorian, had come in hopes of briefly forgetting his concerns about the future.
Viņš vēlējās vienkārši izbaudīt šo mirkli ar saviem draugiem.
He simply wanted to enjoy the moment with his friends.
Ineta smiled and said to him, "This night is made for us to think about joy, not about worries."
" Māris klusībā vēlējās, ka visas problēmas varētu tik viegli pazust.
Māris secretly wished that all problems could disappear so easily.
Inetas piedzīvojumu gars bija vilinošs.
Ineta's adventurous spirit was alluring.
Viņa nerunāja daudz par saviem plāniem, bet Māris nojauta, ka viņa kaut kur dodas.
She didn't talk much about her plans, but Māris sensed that she was going somewhere.
Viņu sarūgtināja doma, ka draudzība varētu mainīties.
He was saddened by the thought that their friendship might change.
Tikmēr Ritvars nevarēja atbrīvoties no domas par Ineteni.
Meanwhile, Ritvars couldn't shake off his thoughts about Ineta.
Kaut arī viņam patika, viņš nebija drošs, kā viņai to pastāstīt.
Although he liked her, he wasn't sure how to tell her.
Viņš bija sagatavojis vēstuli, bet vēl joprojām vilcinājās to dot.
He had prepared a letter but still hesitated to give it.
Vakars kļuva tumšāks, un ugunskurs sāka degt spožāk.
The evening grew darker, and the bonfire began to burn brighter.
Cilvēki dziedāja tradicionālās Jāņu dziesmas, un visapkārt skanēja smiekli.
People sang traditional Jāņi songs, and laughter echoed all around.
Māris sapulcināja draugus pie ugunskura.
Māris gathered his friends by the bonfire.
"Man gribētos ar jums parunāt," viņš teica.
"I want to talk with you," he said.
"Nākotne mani biedē, un es baidos, ka mēs visi aiziesim katrs savu ceļu.
"The future frightens me, and I'm afraid that we will all go our separate ways."
"Ineta pieskārās Māra plecam.
Ineta touched Māris's shoulder.
"Mēs vienmēr būsim draugi, pat ja fiziski būsim tālu viens no otra," viņa teica.
"We will always be friends, even if we are physically far from each other," she said.
"Es plānoju ceļot, bet mūsu draudzība paliks.
"I plan to travel, but our friendship will remain."
"Tas deva Mārim mierinājumu.
This gave Māris comfort.
He realized that change is natural and that friendship can endure despite distance.
Kamēr viņi tur stāvēja, Ritvars, trīcošām rokām, izņēma vēstuli un ielika Inetai rokās, piekš vēl viņu apķert.
As they stood there, Ritvars, with trembling hands, took out the letter and placed it in Ineta's hands before hugging her.
Ineta bija pārsteigta, bet pieņēma to sirds atsaucīgā.
Ineta was surprised but accepted it warmly.
As the night grew cool and the bonfire slowly dimmed, Māris felt a new strength.
Viņš nolēma dzīvot tagad, neuztraucoties par to, kas vēl nav noticis.
He decided to live in the moment without worrying about what had not yet happened.
Pasaulē, kur viss var mainīties, viņi joprojām bija kopā, un tas bija vissvarīgākais.
In a world where everything can change, they were still together, and that was most important.
With shouts echoing and flames dancing, they celebrated Jāņi and who they were on this special night.
