"Aš galiu pati, tik duok man minutę," – pridėjo ji, stengdamasi išsaugoti orumą.

"I can do it myself, just give me a minute," she added, trying to maintain her dignity.

Tomas suprato, jog Rūta nemėgsta pagalbos, tačiau sąlygos reikėjo nedelsiant sprendimo.

Tomas understood that Rūta didn't like help, but the circumstances required an immediate solution.

"Leisk man padėti, Rūta.

"Let me help you, Rūta.

Vienam būtų sunku," – švelniai pasiūlė Tomas.

It would be difficult alone," Tomas gently offered.

Rūta davė nedidelį atokvėpį ir pažvelgė į Tomą.

Rūta sighed slightly and looked at Tomas.

Ji žinojo, kad vienai bus sunku grįžti į miestą.

She knew it would be difficult to return to the city alone.

"Gerai, tik truputį," – sutiko ji.

"Okay, just a little," she agreed.

Staiga prasidėjo smarkus lietus.

Suddenly a heavy rain started.

Takelis staiga tapo slidus ir purvinas.

Rūta šėlo bandydama išsilaikyti ant kojų, tačiau nesėkmingai.

Ji pagaliau pripažino, kad reikia Tomo pagalbos.

"Prašau, padėk man," – tarė ji.

Tomas priglaudė Rūtą prie savęs, ir jie lėtai ėjo link artimiausios priedangos – didelio medžio, kuris saugojo nuo lietaus.

"Aš tau esu neabejingas.

"I have feelings for you.

Man tu rūpi daugiau nei kolegė.

"Rūta buvo nustebinta, bet Tomo žodžiai pralaužė ledus.

Rūta was surprised, but Tomas' words broke the ice.

Ji paėmė jo ranką ir prisipažino, kad ir ji jaučia jam šiltus jausmus.

She took his hand and confessed that she also had warm feelings for him.

"Tomasai, aš jau seniai norėjau pasakyti, bet bijojau," – tyliai ištarė ji.
