부산의 해군 기지에는 여름이 시작되는 아침, 해양 기초 프로그램의 첫날이 찾아왔다.

On a morning marking the start of summer at the navy base in Busan, the first day of the marine foundation program had arrived.

늘 활기찬 바닷바람과 잔잔한 파도가 부딪히는 소리가 들리며, 현대적인 시설들이 프로그램을 준비하고 있었다.

The ever-lively sea breeze and the gentle sound of waves crashing were in the air as the modern facilities prepared for the program.

그곳에 Minjun과 Sungeun이 있었다.

There were Minjun and Sungeun.

Minjun은 해양 생물에 푹 빠진 고등학생이다.

Minjun was a high school student deeply fascinated by marine life.

새로운 시작에 조금 설레고, 긴장도 된다.

He was a bit excited yet nervous about this new beginning.

"나는 잘 할 수 있을까?

"Can I do well?"

" Minjun은 속으로 걱정했다.

Minjun worried inwardly.

다른 학생들은 다들 똑똑해 보였고, 자신이 잘 적응할 수 있을지 두려웠다.

The other students all seemed smart, and he was afraid of whether he could fit in.

Sungeun은 밝고 활발하지만, 물에 대한 두려움이 있었다.

Sungeun was bright and lively but had a fear of water.

어렸을 때 물에서의 사고로 생긴 트라우마가 늘 마음 한켠에 남아 있었다.

A childhood accident in the water had left her with a trauma that still lingered in a corner of her mind.

"이번 기회에 극복해야 해," Sungeun은 결심했다.

"I must overcome this opportunity," Sungeun resolved.

두려움을 넘어서고 싶었다.

She wanted to overcome her fear.

첫 수업에서는 바다의 생태계에 대한 소개가 있었다.

The first class introduced the marine ecosystem.

Minjun은 주어진 과제를 듣고 자신감을 얻고 싶어서 발표를 자원했다.

Minjun volunteered to present because he wanted to gain confidence from the given task.

그러나, 불안함에 손이 살짝 떨렸다.

However, his hands trembled slightly with anxiety.

"괜찮아, 연습하면 돼," 그는 자기 자신을 달랬다.

"It's okay, I just need to practice," he reassured himself.

Sungeun은 Minjun에게 두려움을 털어놓기로 결정했다.

Sungeun decided to confide her fear to Minjun.

두려움이 그녀의 배움을 가로막고 있었고, 도움을 받고 싶었다.

Her fear was blocking her learning, and she wanted help.

"Minjun, 나 사실 물이 무서워," Sungeun은 말했다.

"Minjun, I'm actually afraid of water," Sungeun said.

Minjun은 놀랐지만, Sungeun의 용기에 감명받았다.

Minjun was surprised but impressed by Sungeun's courage.

"함께 하자, 내가 도와줄게," Minjun은 다짐했다.

"Let's do it together, I'll help you," Minjun promised.

두 사람은 서로를 믿고 지지하기로 했다.

They decided to trust and support each other.

드디어 실습 날, 바다로 가는 날이었다.

Finally, the day of practical training, the day to go to the sea, arrived.

Sungeun의 얼굴이 창백해졌다.

Sungeun's face turned pale.

발이 바닥에 붙는 것 같았다.

Her feet seemed glued to the floor.

"할 수 있어, Sungeun," Minjun이 말하며 그녀에게 용기를 불어넣었다.

"You can do it, Sungeun," Minjun said, encouraging her.

물 위에서 Sungeun은 처음엔 두려웠지만, 서서히 마음이 안정되었다.

On the water, Sungeun was initially scared, but gradually she felt more at ease.

바람과 파도가 그녀를 위로하는 듯했다.

It was as if the wind and waves were comforting her.

Minjun의 격려 덕분에 Sungeun은 한걸음 더 나아갈 수 있었다.

Thanks to Minjun's encouragement, Sungeun was able to take one more step forward.

프로그램을 마칠 즈음에는 두 사람 모두 달라져 있었다.

By the time the program ended, both had changed.

Minjun은 발표를 통해 자신감을 얻었고, Sungeun은 두려움을 극복하면서 진정한 용기의 의미를 배웠다.

Minjun gained confidence through his presentation, and Sungeun learned the true meaning of courage as she overcame her fear.

해가 저무는 부산의 바다를 보며, Minjun과 Sungeun은 서로의 존재에 감사했다.

Watching the sun set over the sea in Busan, Minjun and Sungeun were grateful for each other's presence.

"우리, 계속 좋은 친구로 남자," Sungeun이 말했다.

"Let's stay good friends," Sungeun said.

"물론이지," Minjun은 웃으며 대답했다.

"Of course," Minjun replied with a smile.

그렇게 둘은 좋은 인연을 새기며 프로그램을 성공적으로 마쳤다.

And so, they successfully completed the program, etching a good relationship.
