햇볕이 뜨겁게 내리쬐는 여름이었다.

On the farm, corn stalks swayed in the wind, and the chickens clucked here and there.

현은 자신의 자전거를 준비하고 있었다.

Hyeon was preparing his bicycle.

자전거의 핸들바는 반짝반짝 빛나고 있었다.

The handlebars of the bicycle were sparkling.

오늘은 아주 중요한 날이었다.

Today was a very important day.

현은 이웃 지은에게 신선한 계란을 배달하려고 했다.

Hyeon planned to deliver fresh eggs to his neighbor Jieun.

그는 지은에게 자신이 믿을 수 있는 사람임을 보여주고 싶었다.

He wanted to show Jieun that he was someone she could trust.

그런데 문제가 생겼다.

한 마리의 닭이 자전거 핸들바 위에 떡하니 앉았다.

A chicken had plopped itself right on the bicycle handlebars.

닭은 고개를 한쪽으로 기울이며 꿈쩍도 하지 않았다.

The chicken tilted its head to one side and didn't budge.

현은 한숨을 내쉬었다.

민호는 현의 친구이자 때로는 조언자였다.

그렇게 현은 자전거를 서서히 밀고 가면서, 옆으로 넘어지지 않도록 조심했다.

So Hyeon cautiously pushed the bicycle along, making sure not to tip over.

닭은 여전히 자리를 지켰으나, 다행히 계란은 깨지지 않았다.

The chicken still held its place, but luckily, the eggs remained unbroken.

지은의 집이 보일 즈음, 기적 같은 일이 벌어졌다.

As Jieun's house came into view, a miraculous thing happened.

닭이 두두두둑 날아서 사라졌다.

The chicken suddenly flew away, flapping its wings.

현은 숨을 돌리며 지은의 집 앞에 도착했다.

Hyeon caught his breath as he arrived in front of Jieun's house.

지은은 이 광경을 보고 웃음을 참지 못했다.

Seeing this scene, Jieun couldn't help but laugh.

"아주 멋진 배달이었어, 현!" 그녀가 환하게 웃으며 말했다.

"That was quite an impressive delivery, Hyeon!" she said with a bright smile.

현은 처음에 부끄러웠지만, 기묘한 배달 덕분에 지은과 더 가까워진 것 같았다.

Initially, Hyeon felt embarrassed, but it seemed that the peculiar delivery brought him closer to Jieun.
