가을이 깊어진 어느 날, 지호와 민서는 북촌 한옥마을을 걸었다.

"민서야, 이 한옥들은 정말 아름답지 않아?” 지호가 물었다. 그의 눈은 옛날 이야기로 가득한 것처럼 반짝였다.

"Minseoya, aren't these hanok really beautiful?" Jiho asked. His eyes sparkled as if filled with ancient stories.

민서는 길에 늘어선 한옥들을 둘러보며 대답했다. "응, 예쁘지. 하지만 요즘 세상에 꼭 필요한 걸까?" 그녀는 한옥들이 발전을 방해한다고 생각했다.

Minseo looked around at the hanok lined up along the street and answered, "Yeah, they're pretty. But are they really necessary in today's world?" She thought the hanok hindered development.

지호는 고개를 저었다. "이곳은 우리의 역사야. 문화는 쉽게 사라질 수 있어. 하지만 여기서는 우리가 누군지, 어디서 왔는지 알 수 있어."

Jiho shook his head. "This place is our history. Culture can easily disappear. But here, we can know who we are and where we came from."

두 친구는 걸음을 멈추고 한 예술가의 작업실로 발길을 돌렸다.

The two friends stopped walking and turned towards an artist's studio.

문을 열자, 한 아저씨가 미소 지으며 마주했다. "안녕하세요. 전통 예술을 보러 오셨나요?” 그가 말했다.

As they opened the door, an older man greeted them with a smile. "Hello. Have you come to see traditional art?" he asked.

아저씨는 자신이 캔버스에 한옥과 현대 도시를 함께 그린 그림을 보여주었다. "두 시대는 함께 존재해야 해요. 전통이 있는 미래는 부드러운 조화를 이룰 수 있죠."

The man showed them a painting he had made on canvas, depicting hanok alongside a modern city. "The two eras must coexist. A future with tradition can achieve harmonious balance."

민서는 그림을 보면서 생각에 잠겼다. 그녀는 이전에 한 번도 느껴보지 못한 무언가를 보았다. 아저씨의 설명은 그녀의 마음속에 새로운 씨앗을 심었다.

Minseo fell into thought as she looked at the painting. She saw something she had never felt before. The man's explanation planted a new seed in her heart.
