On a day filled with the fragrance of spring, the scenic gated community was full of life.

앞마당에서는 아이들이 웃으며 뛰놀고, 벚꽃나무 아래에서 반짝이는 꽃잎들이 하늘하늘 떨어지고 있었다.

In the front yard, children laughed and played, and under the cherry blossom trees, glittering petals gently floated down.

오늘은 특별한 날이었다.

바로 민지의 아들, 수현의 생일 파티였다.

It was the birthday party of Minji's son, Suhyun.

민지는 아침부터 분주했다.

Minji had been busy since the morning.

테이블 세팅, 케이크 준비, 풍선 장식.

Table setting, cake preparation, balloon decorations.

계획적으로 일을 처리하기 위해 쉴 틈 없이 움직였다.

She moved tirelessly to handle everything methodically.

가장 친한 친구인 수진이 도와주고 있었다.

Her best friend, Sujin, was helping her.

“민지야, 이 풍선은 어디에 달까?” 수진이 물었다.

“Minji, where should I hang these balloons?” Sujin asked.

“저쪽 울타리 옆이 좋을 것 같아!” 민지가 간결하게 답하며 다른 준비에 집중했다.

“I think next to that fence would be nice!” Minji replied succinctly and focused on her other preparations.

그러나 민지에게는 다른 걱정이 있었다.

However, Minji had another concern.

남동생 지호가 요즘 무언가 걱정스러운 듯했다.

Her younger brother, Jiho, seemed to be worried about something lately.

지호는 며칠 전, 민지에게 중요한 결정을 논의하고 싶다고 했지만, 생일 파티 준비 때문에 그와 제대로 이야기할 시간이 없었다.

A few days ago, Jiho had said he wanted to discuss an important decision with her, but due to the birthday party preparations, she hadn't had the time to properly talk to him.

“수진아, 잠시 대신 애들 봐줄 수 있어?” 민지가 부탁했다.

“Sujin, can you watch the kids for a bit?” she asked.

수진은 고개를 끄덕였다.

민지는 지호에게 다가가 앉았다.

Minji went over to Jiho and sat down.

“지호야, 무슨 일이야? 나에게 말해줄 수 있어?” 민지가 부드럽게 물었다.

“Jiho, what's going on? Can you tell me?” Minji asked gently.

지호는 잠시 침묵했지만, 결국 속마음을 털어놓았다.

Jiho was silent for a moment but eventually opened up.

“나 대학을 휴학할지 고민 중이야.”

“I'm considering taking a leave of absence from college.”

지호의 말에 민지는 놀랐지만 곧 그의 마음을 이해했다.

Jiho's words surprised Minji, but she quickly understood his feelings.

“오빠가 결정한 걸 지지할게,” 민지가 말했다.

“I'll support whatever decision you make,” Minji said.

“하지만 언제든지 도움이 필요하면 꼭 말해줘.”

“But please let me know if you ever need help.”
