晴れた夏の日。東京スカイツリーの窓ガラスが太陽の光を受け、きらきらと輝いていました。

On a sunny summer day, the windows of the Tokyo Skytree glistened as they caught the sunlight.

初めての高校生活が始まる日に、ハルカはスカイツリーの下に立っていました。

Haruka stood beneath the Skytree on the day her first high school life was about to begin.

大勢の観光客がいる中で、彼女は深呼吸をしました。

Amidst the throngs of tourists, she took a deep breath.

東京全体を一望できるこの場所で静かに心を落ち着かせようと思っていました。

She hoped to quietly calm her mind in this place where she could overlook the entirety of Tokyo.

でも、高いところや人混みは少し怖かったです。

However, she was a bit frightened of heights and crowds.

「今日は新しいスタートだ。大丈夫、できるよ」と自分に言い聞かせました。

"It's a new start today. It's okay, you can do it," she reassured herself.

建物がとても高くて、まるで雲に届きそうです。

The building was so tall, it seemed it might reach the clouds.

ハルカは建築に興味があり、いつか自分の設計した建物がこのくらいの高さで輝くことを夢見ていました。

Haruka was interested in architecture and dreamed that one day a building designed by her could shine at such a height.

しかし、その夢に焦がれながらも怖さが先に立ちます。

Yet, even as she longed for that dream, fear came first.

エレベーターに乗ると、周りの観光客がワクワクしながら写真を撮っていました。

As she got on the elevator, the surrounding tourists excitedly took photos.

彼女は息をふかく吸って、ゆっくり吐きました。

She took a deep breath and slowly exhaled.

エレベーターが上がるにつれて、足元がふわりと浮くような感覚がしました。

As the elevator ascended, she felt a sensation of floating gently below her feet.

屋上の展望デッキに着くと、眼下に広がる景色が目に飛び込んできました。

Upon arriving at the rooftop observation deck, the sprawling scenery below leaped into view.

心を落ち着けるつもりが、逆に胸がドキドキしてしまいました。

Even though she intended to calm herself, her heart began to pound instead.

恐怖が一気に押し寄せて、ハルカの頭がくらくらしました。

A wave of fear surged through her, making Haruka's head spin.

「どうしよう…」と心の中で叫ぶような気持ちになりました。

She felt like crying out in her heart, "What should I do...?"

その時、隣にいた二人の生徒が彼女に声をかけました。

Just then, two students beside her spoke to her.

「大丈夫ですか？顔色が悪いですよ」と優しい目をしたユキオが言いました。

"Daijoubu desu ka? (Kaoiro doesn't look good)," said Yukio gently.

「深呼吸して、一緒に座りませんか？」と彼の隣にいたアイコが続けて言いました。

"Shinkokyu shite, how about sitting with us?" Aiko, who was next to him, continued.

二人の声で少し落ち着きを取り戻したハルカは、彼らと一緒にベンチに座りました。

With the sound of their voices, Haruka regained some of her composure and sat on a bench with them.

彼女は小さく「ありがとう」と言いました。

She whispered a small "thank you."

ユキオは彼女に水を渡し、アイコは「私たちも今日から同じ高校だよ」と笑いました。

Yukio handed her some water, and Aiko smiled, saying, "We're starting at the same high school today too."

その後、ハルカはユキオとアイコと話をしているうちに、少しずつ気持ちが楽になりました。

Afterward, as Haruka talked with Yukio and Aiko, she gradually began to feel more at ease.

二人はとてもやさしく、彼女の不安を聞いてくれました。

The two were so kind, listening to her anxieties.

ハルカは自分の不安や怖さを打ち明けることで、初めて他の人とつながれることを知りました。

Haruka learned for the first time that by opening up about her fears and anxieties, she could connect with others.

スカイツリーを降りた後、三人は一緒に高校へ向かいました。

After descending the Skytree, the three headed to high school together.

朝の不安が嘘のように、ハルカは新しい友達と共に歩く道を楽しみました。

As if the morning's anxiety had been a lie, Haruka enjoyed walking the path with her new friends.

彼女は歩きながら思いました。友達といると安心できる。

As she walked, she thought: Being with friends is reassuring.

助けを求めることは悪いことじゃない。

Asking for help is not a bad thing.

ハルカは新しいスタートラインに立ちました。

Haruka stood at a new starting line.

これからどんなことがあっても、彼女はそれを乗り越えられると信じていました。新しい友達のユキオとアイコがそばにいてくれるから。

No matter what lay ahead, she believed she could overcome it because Yukio and Aiko, her new friends, would be there for her.

そして、何より自分がまた一歩前進したことを知ったからです。

And more than anything, she knew she had taken another step forward.

学校の門をくぐりながら、彼女は穏やかに微笑みました。

As she passed through the school gate, she smiled gently.

新しい一日が始まります。

A new day was beginning.
