At the hospital window, the shimmering summer sunlight shines brightly.

From there, the distant hustle and the calm passage of time can be felt.

Hiroshi was sitting on a bench in such a comfortable room.

However, his heart was not at peace at all.

Hiroshi was a high school senior.

He had been striving with all his might to meet his family’s expectations for a long time.

Particularly, the final exams for further education were a big hurdle for him.

Yet, the pressure of this responsibility weighed down on his heart, and eventually, he could no longer bear it.

On a day when the exams were approaching, Hiroshi finally broke down mentally.

He ended up being admitted to the psychiatric ward of the hospital.

The white walls of the ward seemed to confront him with reality.

In Hiroshi's mind, he could hear conflicting voices.

On one hand, there was a whisper saying, "Everything will get better if you take the exams."

On the other hand, there was a voice pleading, "It's important to rest."

His friends Yuki and Emi came to visit him.

The two were worried about Hiroshi.

While they also cared about his exams, more than anything, they wished for him to prioritize his health.

Yuki gently said, "Hiroshi, we respect your decision.

But maybe taking care of yourself is the most important thing right now.

You can always take the exams later, but health is always important."

Hiroshi was moved by those words.

He began to realize his true feelings.

When the exam day finally came, despite feeling the expectations of his parents, teachers, and friends, he chose to be honest with himself.

"I will prioritize resting now." The expression on Hiroshi's face, as he said this, appeared somewhat liberated.

He started to gain confidence in his choice.

He decided to recover his health and prepare for another attempt.

During the Obon season, he reflected on himself up to that point, feeling the breeze flowing through the hospital window.

He realized that no matter how hard he tried, nothing could begin without valuing himself.

There was a change in Hiroshi.

Imagining the uncertain future ahead, Hiroshi took a step towards the brighter side.

That step was truly the beginning of a new chapter in his life.
