麦秋の日差しが暖かく包み込み、福岡の美しい浮羽命の棚田に高校生たちが集まりました。

The warm sun of late spring wrapped around the Fukuoka’s beautiful Ukiha Inochi terraced rice fields as high school students gathered.

彼らは学校の夏休みの研修旅行に来ていました。

They were there for their school summer trip.

緑豊かな田んぼが山の斜面に広がり、心を和ませる風景です。

The lush green rice paddies spread across the mountainside, providing a soothing landscape.

この日の主役は、写真好きの内気な高校生、結城（ゆうき）でした。

The protagonist of the day was a shy high school student with a love for photography, Yuuki.

彼女のカメラは、祖父が初めて手渡した宝物です。

Her camera was a treasure first handed to her by her grandfather.

祖父の教えを胸に、完璧な写真を撮ることが夢でした。

With his teachings in her heart, her dream was to take the perfect photo.

特に、お盆の季節に照らされる田んぼを撮りたいと思っていました。

She especially wanted to capture the rice fields bathed in the Obon festival light.

同行していたさくら先生は、集合時間を厳しく管理していました。

「夕方までには戻りますよ。

時間厳守でお願いします」先生の声が響きます。

しかし、結城の心は揺らぎます。

完璧な写真を撮るためには、夕日が沈むまでここに残らなければならないと知っていました。

「先生、どうしても夕方の写真が撮りたいんです」さくら先生は少し考え込んだあと、優しく微笑みました。

"Sensei, I really want to take photos in the evening," she said.

「いいでしょう。

Sakura sensei thought for a moment, then smiled gently.

でも、みんなに迷惑をかけないように気を付けてね」夕方になり、棚田は黄金色に染まり始め、やがて灯篭が輝き始めました。

"Alright, but be sure not to inconvenience everyone else."

その時、結城はカメラを手にし、心地よい風に逆らわずシャッターを押しました。

As evening came, the terraced rice fields began to glow golden, and the lanterns started to shine.

祖父の面影を心に浮かべながら、夢中で写真を撮りました。
