夏の太陽が輝くある日、学校の遠足で「花の庭園」へ行くことになりました。

はるとは少し緊張しながら花の名前を考えていました。

Haruto was feeling a bit nervous as he tried to think of the names of the flowers.

今日はクラスでの自分の知識を証明したく、間違いを恐れていました。

一方、あいこは遠くからはるとを見ていました。

On the other hand, Aiko was watching Haruto from afar.

彼女は明るくて元気な女の子で、お話をするのが大好きです。

しかし、はるとに話しかけるタイミングをつかめずにいました。

「七夕祭りの短冊を書こうよ」と彼女ははるとに声をかけました。

"Let's write our Tanabata wishes on strips of paper," she called out to Haruto.

はるとは驚きつつも、彼女の提案が嬉しかったので、笑顔で頷きました。

Although surprised, Haruto was happy with her suggestion and nodded with a smile.

二人は庭園の人が少ない静かな場所に移動しました。

The two of them moved to a quiet place in the garden where there were fewer people.

そこにあるベンチに腰を下ろし、短冊を書くことにしました。

They sat down on a bench and decided to write their wishes.

「願い事を書こう」とあいこが言うと、はるともペンを取りました。

When Aiko said, "Let's write our wishes," Haruto also picked up a pen.

はるとは「植物のことをもっと勉強したい」と書きました。

Haruto wrote, "I want to study more about plants."

あいこは「はるとともっと話したい」と心の中でつぶやきましたが、短冊には「友達とたくさんの物語を作りたい」と書きました。

Aiko whispered in her heart, "I want to talk more with Haruto," but she wrote on her strip, "I want to create many stories with friends."

互いの願いを見せ合うと、そこには微笑みがありました。

When they showed each other their wishes, there was a smile.

はるとは自分の夢を話し始め、緊張は徐々に消えていきました。

「植物のことを教えて」とあいこが嬉しそうに言いました。
