上野公園の夏の夜。

A summer night at Ueno Park.

七夕の日。

The night of the Tanabata festival.

公園はたくさんの人で賑わっていました。家族、カップル、友達。

The park was bustling with people: families, couples, and friends.

みんなが浴衣を着ていました。

Everyone was wearing yukata.

屋台からは食べ物のいい香りが漂ってきます。

From the food stalls, a wonderful aroma of food wafted through the air.

提灯が優しく揺れて、祭りの雰囲気をさらに盛り上げていました。

The lanterns gently swayed, further enhancing the festive atmosphere.

大学生のヒロシは、カメラを抱えて公園に来ました。

Daigakusei, or college student, Hiroshi came to the park with his camera.

彼の心にはある目的がありました。

He had a certain purpose in mind.

幼馴染のユキに、ずっと伝えたかった気持ちがあったのです。

There was a feeling he had wanted to convey to his childhood friend Yuki for a long time.

でも、ユキはまだそれに気づいていません。

However, Yuki hadn't realized it yet.

ヒロシはそっとアキラの方を見ます。

Hiroshi quietly glanced at Akira.

アキラはヒロシの親友で、彼の気持ちを知っています。

Akira was Hiroshi's best friend and knew of his feelings.

「今日こそ、言うんだぞ」とアキラが言いました。

"Today, you're really going to tell her," Akira said.

ヒロシは小さく頷きました。

Hiroshi nodded slightly.

でも、心の中は不安でいっぱいです。

However, his heart was filled with anxiety.

もし、ユキに振られたら友達としての関係も壊れてしまうかもしれません。

If Yuki rejected him, it might also ruin their friendship.

それが一番の心配でした。

That was his greatest worry.

花火が始まりました。

The fireworks began.

夜空に次々と広がる色とりどりの花火。

Colors spread across the night sky one after another.

ヒロシはカメラを手に取り、シャッターを切りました。

Hiroshi picked up his camera and pressed the shutter.

美しい光景をカメラに収めることは、彼の大好きなことです。

Capturing the beautiful scenery with his camera was something he loved.

ユキは花火に夢中でした。

Yuki was captivated by the fireworks.

楽しそうに笑う彼女を見て、ヒロシは決意しました。

Watching her laugh happily, Hiroshi resolved himself.

言うべき時が来た、と。

The time had come to tell her.

「ユキ」とヒロシは小声で呼びかけました。

"Yuki," Hiroshi called out softly.

彼の声は小さかったけれど、ユキは気づきました。

Even though his voice was quiet, Yuki noticed.

「どうしたの？」と彼女が問いかけます。

"What is it?" she asked.

しかし、その時大きな花火が夜空を彩りました。

However, at that moment, a large firework burst across the night sky.

ユキはそれに目を奪われ、ヒロシは再び言葉を飲み込みました。

Yuki was captivated by it, and Hiroshi swallowed his words once again.

心臓がドキドキと音を立てます。

His heart was pounding loudly.

「ユキ、ずっと好きだった」とヒロシはやっとの思いで言いました。

"Yuki, I've always liked you," Hiroshi managed to say.

花火の音が消えた瞬間、ユキはヒロシを見つめました。

The moment the sound of the fireworks ceased, Yuki looked at Hiroshi.

彼女の顔には驚きと喜びの感情が入り混じっています。

Her face was a mix of surprise and joy.

「ヒロシ、本当に？」ユキの声には嬉しさが溢れていました。

"Hiroshi, really?" Yuki's voice was filled with happiness.

ヒロシは緊張で固まっていた肩をようやくリラックスさせました。

Hiroshi was finally able to relax the shoulders that had been tense with nerves.

「はい、本当です」と彼は頷きました。

"Yes, really," he nodded.

二人はしばらくその場で立ち尽くしました。

The two of them stood there for a while.

周囲の喧騒がまるで遠ざかっていくように感じました。

It felt as if the noise around them was fading into the distance.

最後の花火が夜空を引き裂くように響き渡りました。

The final firework echoed as if tearing through the night sky.

その音と共に、ヒロシの心も新しい一歩を踏み出したのです。

Along with that sound, Hiroshi's heart took a new step forward.

その夜、ヒロシは大切なことを学びました——時には勇気を出して自分の気持ちを伝えることが、関係を深める大きな一歩となることを。

That night, Hiroshi learned something important—sometimes, taking the courage to express your feelings can be a big step in deepening a relationship.

ユキは微笑み、ヒロシの手をそっと握りました。

Yuki smiled and gently took Hiroshi's hand.

His daily life was beginning to change.

そして、その変化が心にぬくもりをもたらしました。

上野公園の灯りが消え、祭りの賑わいも静かに終わりを迎えましたが、ヒロシとユキの心には、新しい灯火がともされていたのです。

The lights of Ueno Park were turned off, and the festival’s lively noise also came to a quiet end, but in the hearts of Hiroshi and Yuki, a new light had been kindled.
