ヒロシとエミコは、春の休暇でアマルフィ海岸にやって来ました。

Hiroshi and Emiko came to the Amalfi Coast for their spring vacation.

青い海と緑の崖が広がる美しい景色の中、ふたりは昔からの家族の謎を解き明かそうとしていました。

ヒロシは安全第一の性格です。

Hiroshi is the type who prioritizes safety first.

「この旅は休暇だ、ゆっくりしよう」と姉に言います。

"This trip is a vacation, let's take it easy," he says to his sister.

しかし、エミコは違います。

「おじいさんが戦争のとき、ここにいました。何か秘密があるかもしれない！」と興奮しています。

"Grandfather was here during the war. There might be a secret!" she says excitedly.

二人は地元の人々に話を聞こうとしますが、みんな口を閉ざしています。

The two try to talk to the local people, but everyone remains tight-lipped.

「家族のことは忘れた方がいい」と言われるばかりです。

They are only told, "It's better to forget about family matters."

それでもエミコは諦めません。

「ヒロシ、お寺に行ってみよう。何か手がかりがあるかも」

"Hiroshi, let's go to the temple. There might be some clues."

ヒロシは心配ですが、エミコの目には情熱が溢れています。

「分かった、一緒に行こう」と彼は決心します。

お寺に着くと、古びた石造りの建物が彼らを迎えます。

エミコは急に静かになり、あたりを見渡します。

Emiko suddenly falls silent and looks around.

ヒロシも慎重に歩きます。

Hiroshi also walks cautiously.

すると、エミコが何かを見つけました。

Then, Emiko finds something.

「これを見て！」

"Look at this!"

彼女は古い手紙を手にしています。

She's holding an old letter.

手紙にはおじいさんの名前が書いてありました。

The letter had their grandfather's name written on it.

「おじいさん...»とエミコはささやきます。

"Grandfather..." Emiko whispers.

手紙には、戦時中にイタリアの家族と親しくなったこと、隠されていた秘密の物語が記されていました。

The letter contained a story about becoming close with an Italian family during the war, with a hidden secret.

ヒロシはその内容に驚き、エミコに言います。「おじいさんの過去を知ることができて良かった。でも、これからもっと安全に調べよう。」

Hiroshi is surprised by its contents and tells Emiko, "It's great that we could learn about Grandfather's past. But from now on, let's investigate more safely."

エミコは嬉しそうにうなずきます。
