冬の寒さが日本の上野公園に広がっていました。

The chill of winter was spreading through Ueno Park in Japan.

薄い白い霧が公園を包み込み、時折、子どもの笑い声が聞こえました。

A thin white mist enveloped the park, and occasionally, the laughter of children could be heard.

この日は節分の日。

It was Setsubun day.

学生や家族が豆まきを楽しむために集まっています。

Students and families were gathering to enjoy throwing beans.

高見は、クラスメイトと一緒に公園を歩いていました。

Takami was walking through the park with his classmates.

彼は他の人と話すのが苦手で、いつも静かに過ごしていました。

He was not good at talking to others and always spent his time quietly.

でも、今日は違いました。

But today was different.

彼は何か変化したいと思っていました。

He wanted to change something.

「高見くん、大丈夫？

"Takami-kun, are you alright?"

」と、愛子が彼に声をかけました。

Aiko called out to him.

愛子はいつも明るく、人を笑顔にするのが上手でした。

「節分って楽しいよ！

豆を投げるだけで厄を払えるんだから。

」とみんなが声を合わせて叫びながら豆を投げます。

深呼吸をして、一粒一粒に自分の不安を乗せるように、力いっぱい豆を投げました。

」その瞬間、何かが変わった気がしました。

愛子が嬉しそうに笑い、ひろは彼の背中を叩きました。
