その日、遥斗と恵美子は少し気まずい雰囲気の中、寺を訪れていた。

On that day, Haruto and Emiko visited the temple in a slightly awkward atmosphere.

兄妹の間には、最近の家族の口論が影を落としていた。

口数少ない遥斗は、伝統を大事にするが、その口論以来、家族行事に消極的だった。

「お兄ちゃん、冬祭りに一緒に行こうよ」と恵美子が切り出した。

"Big brother, let's go to the winter festival together," Emiko suggested.

「いや、僕は行かない」と短く答える遥斗。

"No, I'm not going," Haruto answered briefly.

恵美子はあきらめず、優しい声で言った。

「覚えてる？小さい頃、ここで見た景色。お兄ちゃん、あの時もすごく楽しんでたよね。」

"Do you remember the view we saw here when we were little? You really enjoyed it back then."

遥斗は少し戸惑った表情を浮かべた。

「そうだな、あのときは楽しかった」と彼は、思い出に目を細めた。

"Yeah, it was fun back then," he said, his eyes narrowing with nostalgia.

恵美子は続けた。「家族が一緒にいるのも、あの頃のように楽しいよ。お兄ちゃんがいないと、ちょっと寂しいな。」

Emiko continued, "Being with family is just as fun as it was in those days. It's a bit lonely without you, big brother."
