秋の風が赤と金の落ち葉を庭に舞い散らせる中、大きな家は七五三の準備でにぎわっていました。

As the autumn wind scattered red and gold leaves across the garden, the large house was bustling with preparations for Shichi-Go-San.

ハルトは部屋の窓からその景色を眺めていました。

Haruto was gazing at the scene from his room window.

彼は最近、手術を受けて、その回復のためベッドからほとんど動けません。

He had recently undergone surgery and was mostly confined to his bed to recover.

家族はハルトのことを大事に思い、休ませようとしていますが、ハルトは心に穴が空いたように感じていました。

His family cared deeply for him and wanted him to rest, but Haruto felt as if there was a hole in his heart.

彼も準備に参加したかったのです。

He wanted to join the preparations too.

ハルトのいとこ、七歳のレイカは、色とりどりの着物を身にまとい七五三を楽しみにしていました。

Haruto's cousin, seven-year-old Reika, was dressed in a colorful kimono and eagerly looking forward to Shichi-Go-San.

しかし、彼女もハルトのことを心配していました。

「ハルトくん、一緒に楽しもうよ」とレイカは言いながら、彼の部屋を訪れました。

"Let's enjoy this together, Haruto-kun," said Reika as she visited his room.

レイカはそっとハルトのベッドに祭りの飾りを持ち込みました。

Reika quietly brought some festival decorations to Haruto's bed.

色鮮やかな紙飾りや小さな竹の笛です。

They were brightly colored paper decorations and a small bamboo flute.

「これで少しはお祭り気分になれるかな？」とレイカは微笑みました。

ハルトはその心遣いに少し心が軽くなりました。

The thoughtfulness lightened Haruto's heart a little.

しかし、大人たちは「ハルトが無理をしないように」とまだ彼を見守っていました。

However, the adults continued to watch over him, saying, "Let’s make sure Haruto doesn’t overdo it."

ハルトはそれに対して何も言えませんでしたが、心の中ではモヤモヤが晴れませんでした。

それを察したレイカは考えました。

「ハルトくんが参加できる方法はないかな？」

そして、彼女は小さな発表会を開くことを提案しました。

Then she proposed holding a small celebration in his room.

「ハルトくんの部屋でお祝いしよう！みんなで一緒に楽しもう！」

"Let's celebrate in Haruto's room! Let's all enjoy it together!"

その提案は家族に喜ばれました。

The proposal delighted the family.

家族全員がハルトの部屋に集まりました。

Everyone gathered in Haruto's room.

ハルトは初めて手作りの笛を吹きました。

For the first time, Haruto played the handmade flute.

音はあまり出ませんでしたが、みんなが拍手しました。

It didn't produce much sound, but everyone applauded.

そして、家族はハルトに「一緒にいられて嬉しい」と伝えました。

Then, the family expressed to Haruto, "We’re happy to be with you."

ハルトはとても幸せでした。

Haruto felt very happy.
