しかし、同僚の多くが休暇中で、カナは一人で仕事を抱える状況にありました。

However, with many colleagues on vacation, Kana found herself handling the work alone.

カナは決意しました。「一人でこの仕事を終わらせる。」

Determined, Kana thought, "I'll finish this work by myself."

そう自分に言い聞かせて、彼女は長時間働き始めました。

She told herself this as she began working long hours.

でも、報告書の山は少しも減りません。

A few days later, Kana successfully returned to her family home for the Obon holiday, preparing to welcome her ancestors in front of the ancestor altar decorated with many offerings.

家族と共に過ごす時間が、カナには何よりの癒しでした。

The time spent with her family was the ultimate relaxation for Kana.

この経験を通して、カナは一つの大切なことを学びました。「協力することで、大変な仕事も乗り越えられる」。
