今日は理想郷の毎年恒例のスイカフェスティバル。

Today was the annual Risoukyou Watermelon Festival.

スイカの大きな山が、テーブルに並んでいます。

A large pile of watermelons was arranged on the tables.

ハルトはワクワクしながら会場にやってきましたが、心の中では少し不安でした。

Haruto came to the venue with excitement but felt a little anxious inside.

「スイカってどんな味なんだろう？」と、彼は心の中でつぶやきます。

"I wonder what watermelon tastes like?" he murmured to himself.

実は、ハルトはスイカを食べたことがありませんでした。

In fact, Haruto had never tasted watermelon before.

でも、彼には大きな目標があります。それはアイコを驚かせること。

However, he had a big goal: to surprise Aiko.

アイコは元気いっぱいです。

Aiko was full of energy.

「さあ、ハルト！種飛ばしコンテストに参加しようよ！」と声をかけます。

"Come on, Haruto! Let's join the seed spitting contest!" she called out.

アイコの笑顔を見ると、ハルトの心も軽くなります。

Seeing Aiko's smile lightened Haruto's heart as well.

「僕、やってみるよ！」と決意を固めました。

"I'll give it a try!" he resolved.

コンテストが始まりました。

The contest began.

参加者たちは次々にスイカの種を飛ばします。

Participants took turns spitting watermelon seeds.

アイコも負けないように頑張っています。

Aiko was doing her best not to be outdone.

「遥かに飛ばすぞ！」と彼女は意気込んでいます。

"I'll send it flying far!" she exclaimed determinedly.

そして、ついにハルトの番です。

Then it was finally Haruto's turn.

「よし、やってみよう」と自分を励まし、初めてスイカを口にします。

"Okay, let's do this," he encouraged himself, and tasted watermelon for the first time.

甘くてジューシーなスイカの味に、彼は少し驚きました。

The sweet and juicy taste surprised him a little.

ついに、種を吹き飛ばします。

Finally, he blew the seed out.

なんと、その種は遠くまで飛びました！

Astonishingly, it flew far!

周りの人たちが拍手し、歓声をあげます。

The surrounding crowd applauded and cheered.

コンテストの結果、アイコが優勝しました。

As a result of the contest, Aiko won.

でも、みんなが話題にしているのはハルトの驚異的な一投です。

But, what everyone was talking about was Haruto's amazing throw.

アイコも「ハルト、おめでとう！楽しんでくれて良かった」と微笑みます。

Aiko too smiled and said, "Haruto, congratulations! I'm glad you enjoyed it."

ハルトは今日の経験を通じて、新しいことに挑戦することの楽しさを知りました。

フェスティバルは続き、空には色とりどりの花火が上がりました。

The festival continued, and colorful fireworks lit up the sky.
