The summer sun was shining down on the town.
Harto was walking along the streets of the quiet seaside town.
He returned to his grandmother's old house after she had passed away.
Outside the house, the salty breeze from the sea pleasantly wrapped around him.
Harto was organizing his grandmother's house.
It was there that a secret was revealed.
It was a locked room that hadn't been opened for a long time.
Inside the room, there was a mysterious diary.
The diary was written in old characters, and Harto couldn't read it.
"Yui, I need your help," Harto asked his childhood friend Yui.
Yui had continued living in this town and was knowledgeable about the local legends and customs.
The two of them took the diary and sat in the shade of a tree near the town shrine.
The diary contained incomprehensible words.
"This is... written in old characters," Yui said.
"It’s difficult to translate, but I'll give it a try."
The townspeople suddenly became silent when the conversation turned to Harto's grandmother.
It was as if they were afraid of something.
However, Harto didn't give up.
He wanted to learn about his family's history.
Bit by bit, Yui began translating the diary.
It contained the connection between the town's old legends and his grandmother.
Surprisingly, it became clear that it was related to the obon festival.
"This legend resembles the story of the fireballs," Yui said, recalling many things.
On the night of obon, the town was bustling with lanterns and the sounds of the festival.
Harto and Yui let themselves be swayed by the rhythm of the festival music and headed toward the town square.
By solving the diary's mystery, the two understood the past that his grandmother had kept secret.
It seemed that his grandmother had deeply preserved the traditions of this town.
In the festival night's sky, fireballs danced, and at last, Harto felt the bond between his family and the town.
For the first time, he felt proud of his hometown.
With his grandmother’s memory in his heart, he decided to take a new step forward here.
Amidst the sound of the sea and the festival music, Harto smiled.
It was a moment when the town's past and future were connected as one.
